7 RULE Changes to Fix AFL


DELIBRETE OUT OF BOUNDS

• Allowed to punch it out of bounds from OPPOSITION PLAYERS DISPOSAL
• Kick or Handball out of bounds = free kick to OPPOSITION
• Ruckman punching ball out of.bounds is dilebrate

You have screwed up. Keep it simple. No discretion from umpires

• THROW IN when contested Mark or Play (fumble) spills out

1. RUSHED BEHIND FREE KICK

• Worst over reaction ever

To have "professional fumbles" as part of the game is a DISGRACE.

If you want to give the opposition points so be it.

• TIME BACK ON NOT called UNTIL kick out has been touched by another player. This cancels out wasting time by rushing behinds if in front. NO MATTER if they play on from kick out. TIME STAYS OFF UNTIL TOUCHED.

1. 15m NOT 50m penalties

• 50m is stupid too big a penalty and why? 15m is a mark and measured kick of AFL
• We gave to stop gifting goals its a disgrace.

1. BALL UPS ASAP

• No nominations just ball up anyone can have a go. Sammy is right here.

1. NO FREES IN GOAL SQUARE

• Back to the centre if free kick after goal is scored. Not 2nd gifted goal BS.
• AND WHEN a Free kick is given inside 50, it's to be taken from 35m out (a foul line shot)

1. NO INTERCHANGE - SUBS ONLY

• 6 substitutes
• Can only replace 6 players
• Eg ablett off Guthrie on. Then ONLY Guthrie coming off can have Ablett get back on.
• If Ablett and Guthrie injured then ANOTHER SUB required. Simple.
• This makes Subs for injury and complete exhaustion only.
• Takes away this athletic bullshit and we get back to FOOTBALL SKILLS.

1. HOLDING THE BALL

• It's All over The place.
• DID HE HAVE PRIOR?
• Was the ball knocked out?
• Was it long enough?
• Did he spin 360?

FFS SIMPLE SOLUTION

• If you DONT DISPOSE OF THE BALL ITS A FREE KICK AGAINST
• If the OPPO player can't get you down I don't care if you spin 100 times he hasn't got you down yet so play on until he does or gets the ball off you or you dispose properly.
• THIS INCLUDES BOUNCING THE BALL AND NOT CATCHING IT AFTER. HOW MANY TIMES WE SEE A PLAYER BOUNCE THE BALL, STUFF IT UP and IT GOES DRIBBLING THEN ITS CALLED PLAY ON?? WHAT??? That's a throw HELLO!??!

I have actually seen player bounce the ball to another player he has THROWN IT yet it's play on because he was thinking about BOUNCING it!?! WHAT? LOL what he hell is wrong with us Aussies?


ALL THIS INDISCRETION TRYING TO MAKE THE GAME FAIR? Typical Australian PCness


If we change the 7 things above we will have the greatest Game in the world.


Right now we have a laughable PC Game built on umpires discretion where teams win based on who can fake the best / get lucky decisions of human error/bias.


I'm sick of not penalising BAD SKILLS and penalising TRIVIAL crap.

When a player running into goal from 40m kicks and misses and it dribbles out of bounds THATS A SKILL ERROR and should be punished. Right now you get a throw in to have a second go at it???

Same scenario players fluffs kick and opposition beats their opponent to the ball and then rushes the behind will get done!?!

Again why? They won the ball if they wanna rush it THEN THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED

A few things,

The boundary line is used an extra player for the defence, Always has and should forever be that. The game isnt all about scoring goals.

Ever played Full back?, The rush behind kick in is the greatest thing ever!

I agree with the 50Mtr penailty, Ball ups and Im 50/50 on the kick in goal square point...Play the ball, Not the man and there should be no reason for a second free kick

Interchanges, Need them, Game is too fast to just have subs now

Holding the ball - Pay the incorrect disposal and that gets rid of the did he have prior, he tried bs,

Two-time Grand Final runner up coach Ross Lyon has raised seven rule-change ideas he’ll be bringing to AFL footy operations boss Steve Hocking.

Lyon wants to be added to a secondary competition committee looking at the future of the game and these are seven changes the Victorian wants the AFL to consider.

1. If your opponent kicks under 60 points, you get a bonus premiership point.

Lyon: “If you restrict your opponent to under a score of 60 points, you get a bonus point on the ladder,” he told Footy SA.

2. Smother the Sherrin with soap and polytetrafluoroethene.

Lyon: “The ball has been the same for 100 years, what if we put some slippery substances on it so the players' skills can be tested further?"

3. Allow stoppages on the interchange bench and abolish the boundary throw in.

Lyon: “Why should stoppages be restricted to only being inside the field of play. The interchange bench is a position too. If the ball goes out of bounds, the field umpire can continue to bounce the ball around the interchange area and continue to do so until the ball enters the field of play.”

4. Introduce a hurdle in the goal square.

Lyon: "The other one is the inclusion of an Olympic sized hurdle in the goal square that an opponent has to successfully jump over immediately prior to kicking the ball back into the field of play. If the player fails to complete the jump and disposal within three seconds, the field umpire will call for a ball-up at the edge of the goal square."

5. 16 players starting in the centre square.

Lyon: “This would be an innovation for the better. Players will have to work extra hard to clear congestion and every clearance won will be more appreciated.”

6. A 20x20m bunker inside the centre square filled with sand.

Lyon: "Why should Golf be the only sport that has a sand bunker? Challenge the players further by placing a large sand bunker in the centre of the ground. It will encourage more teams to play wider instead of attacking straight down the corridor."

7. All AFL officials apart from head coaches to be attractive females with experience in pole dancing, modelling, prostitution and pornography.

Lyon: "We need to continue pushing for equality. The game has come a long way over the past 15 years with the additions of female goal umpires, female field umpires, females on AFL and club committees and the inclusion of the AFLW."
