Some good write-ups on Brownless, Mensch and Walsh.... Although Walsh will be out of our range, but those two Father/Son prospects look good.

Need to keep an eye on that goal kicking machine Garoni, apparently he's more a stay home forward according to Knightmare. Knightmare also suggested Mensch is a high production midfielder but lacks hurt factor, sometimes he goes unnoticed.

I was thinking Couch.
I think if we go for Mensch, then I'd like to see us go for more mid-sized and key position types, maybe a ruck also. I think with the likes of Fogarty, Parfitt, Narkle, JJ, Miers, etc etc; we have enough of those sub 180 types that are young and developing on the list, just IMO.

There seems to be so much talent early in this draft .. who knows what we will do...but I agree if we take both we have added plenty of mids.

Pure_Ownage ...this is the kid I have mentioned a couple of times .. Very athletic type .. if he is playing forward now may start to gather some earlier interest.

Spring-heeled ruckman Bailey Williams played a big part up forward in Dandenong's convincing win against Western. The 198cm, 95kg ruckman who will spend most of the season up forward for Dandenong due to their deep ruck division, amassed 17 disposals, 12 contested possessions, eight marks (four contested), seven goals and three score assists.

If Williams is anything like his old man then you snap him up quick smart. Saw him kick double figures on a few occasions in the MPNFL later in his career. Great vice-like one grab marks and a beautiful kick of the footy. Ultra competitive too which you want from a big man.

1980's?

Well the only thing I can certainly say BW has is a leap atm... has a bit to learn I think but a lot of potential... put it this way... Sav went at 40 something because he was raw... put Williams in system for a couple of years and what will you have...

If we had to compare Oscar and Baxter to AFL players now....who would you describe them as ?

Thats a question for a bit later in the year as I think its changing. OB last year was sort of playing a Stewart/Kolo role but this year is onball. I think we will get a better idea in the next couple of months.

I dont know anything about this kid...but seems to gets some good write ups... 198cm apparently...

Geelong

Mobile, relieving ruckman Blake Schlensog has kicked eight goals in his past three games for Geelong. He is in the mix to feature late or as a rookie.

Here a bit on the kid from Matt Balmer...

if nothing else worth watching

#48 Blake Schlensog – Schlensog finished with two majors for the day but his impact wasn’t just felt up forward. He was excellent in the ruck at times with clever taps that were crafted to his midfielders, instead of tapping it down and letting them do all the work. Had clean hands which were useful to find a teammate and create a forward entry. Another quick pick-up allowed him to snap through a goal that got momentum going early on. He’s a tall player but has gentle hands and footwork, exemplified through a nice light kick to just drop it onto the chest of a teammate. Schlensog was able to read the footy well and work his opponent under the ball, often resulting in strong marks.

His name fits with our recent drafting habits. Someday we'll field a side that puts an overexcited BT into the hospital.

TAC Cup 2018: Geelong Falcons’ Dane Hollenkamp reignites his AFL dream as key defender

GEELONG Falcons sensation Dane Hollenkamp says his TAC Cup career would have been short-lived had he not been reinvented as a defender. The 200cm tall helped to steer the Falcons to premiership glory as a ruckman last year, but has since found a new home in defence, which has caught the attention of a number of AFL scouts.
...

At the TAC Cup testing day in March, Hollenkamp was the only Falcon to record three consecutive 20m sprints under three seconds, a feat that put him on the radar of AFL scouts.

At 200cm.. having been played in the ruck but now down back..he resonates a very handy type to have on a list.

More stuff on Oscar ...

http://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/...edy-tasmanian-chayce-jones-impresses-midfield

Geelong father-son prospect Oscar Brownless' pressure and tackling were highlights with his pressure on the ball carrier leading directly to several scoring opportunities. The son of Bill produced 18 disposals, seven tackles and four inside 50s and looms as a likely national draft choice.

With us having a lack of quality mid forward options and Menzel days being numbered I'd have a serious look at Curtis Taylor or Connor Rozee with our first. Both classy, quality finishers good overhead of a similar ilk to Menzel. Hopefully without his knees...

Like Rozee ... but more mid than a forward?

It may just depend on what pick we end up having..
Heres an eg of what I mean.. care of Slice of Pie..

and of course we all know how predictable Wells is...
