Great, play every game in Geelong, at least we wont have to put up with your constant whinging

Would love to know honestly what you think of being forced to play a home game at Dockland next week. An obvious answer is anywhere, anytime, but if you have a preference of playing anywhere where would you like your home game played?

It doesnt stress us, we have won 3 of the last 4 there and are mature enought to realise its an AFL ruling.

Thanks, that is crap. Almost like taking 4 points off you and giving them to a rival.
It's not just Geelong. The AFL forces other Melbourne clubs to play home games at other grounds. We played our home game against the Eagles at Etihad. Last year we played our home game against the Bulldogs at their home ground. Collingwood, Richmond and Melbourne also get shafted along with the Cats.

We have to play 'home' games at Docklands including against tenant clubs. Next round we lose out on our home game advantage by playing Sydney there.

You guys aren't the only club who loses home games, other than Sydney the only teams who don't are the non Vic ones

As DJMac said, it's a bit easier to swallow when it's at a neutral ground, rather than the opponent's home ground. Unless I've read it wrong, this year, Richmond have 10 home games at the MCG and that 1 at Etihad vs Sydney. Last year was the same, except the 1 at Etihad was vs Brisbane. 2016 was the same except vs Adelaide.

So 16 straight wins at the G. Surely if only
for a token advantage you would prefer to play in front of a roaring crowd at a fortress you are seeming currently unbeatable at. This is exactly how the common cats fan feels. Only difference we aren’t the dominant, all conquering current champs of the comp.
When the Tigers run comes to an end and you come back to the pack like the Cats and others have, I’m sure this token advantage would become a bit more valuable as well as the obvious concern for more than a third of the Tigers army missing out on a seat

Get the violin out should of been played at kitty litter park waaaa waaaa waaaa sounds a bit familiar to last year doesn't it? ?
Like it has been said in here we have to play a few home games at eitihad but u don't hear us meowing like pussys

geelong just had too many blokes in long sleeves to get the job done today

2, 3, 27, soft, soft, soft

throw in a handlebar moustache, a bleach blonde, and a few headbands and the handbags were well and truly swinging before they left the locker rooms

Definitely. Jimmy Bartel, James Hird, Stephen Silvagni, Michael Tuck, John Coleman, Peter Hudson were extremely soft too - hmmm, perhaps that was the key to Tucks longevity? 400+ soft games.

With only 14 games at the MCG and having to play 1 home game against an interstate team at Etihad I don't know how you guys manage. And you don't even complain about it. Very sporting of you.

Edit: perhaps having the GF at your home ground until 2057 at least partially compensates you for the game at Etihad.

How many of those mcg games are against non Victorian teams? Please let me know.

Len Smith hatched a plan to move to the venue where the finals are played, it worked, fast forward nearly 60 years and the Cats are hell bent on doing the oposite. Progressive bunch down in sleepy hollow.

They are the most insular fans in the comp, they are so used to being at their boutique stadium with 100 seats made available to visiting fans. I still laugh at their reaction during and after the final last year, funny stuff.

Yep same, we are in a fortunate position to play a good chunk of the season at GMHBA with nice mix of games at the G. Almost the perfect scenario for us. If we are good enough we should be able to win anywhere. We clearly aren’t good enough at the moment and need to learn how to win some big games at the G to be a contender.

Strangely enough we have played 6 top 8 teams now (completing the 7 with Sydney next week). We have played 3 at opposition home grounds, 2 at neutral grounds, and this was the first (and only when you consider Sydney is at Docklands) where we actually have a home ground advantage. Funnily enough it wasn't even our home game.

Not sure how many of the other top clubs have had a run that bad against other top sides. Geelong maybe (probably), ironically.

Tough thing is, the fixture will never Be entirely fair until all states have roughly equal numbers of teams which is unlikely to happen for a very very long time if ever

you can carry a good player in long sleeves but you cant carry three soft utensils in june against the premiers
