That’s a big leap you made there. Blocking an ambulance is clearly not the same as inconveniencing people. Did I really need to point that out?

Lets say a bunch of protesters block a highway and several hundred cannot get to work.
Inconvenience you say? What if someone is a fireman or a ER doctor or even a judge or lawyer going to court.
You see people blocking a road and think its good because they are getting noticed, I see a bunch of idiots pushing the letter too far in what is considered an acceptable form of protest and indirectly altering many innocent peoples day for no actual gain.
As more and more people protest in illegal ways the more authoritarian measures will be implemented to shut down protests.

It's strange.
If you take them at their word, attending the speech was about free speech. Not supporting racism.
But they complain about protesters exercising their right to point out the speakers and attendees are racist campaigners.
Why don't those protesters storming stages and yelling stuff in those events debate the ideas with the speaker during q&a. Seems much more productive at disproving them or convincing others of your point of view.

I wouldn’t say blocking a road is necessarily good or bad. The question is; is it a an appropriate tactic?
State sanctioned protest is pretty toothless and amounts to a public meeting of people who more or less agree on the subject. The more laws that are enacted to prevent protest the more authoritarian the society becomes. The authoritarian society can then use harsh tactics to shut down protests under the pretence of legality.
