Media are flogs. That HUN article the other day about Gaff supposedly being "mates" with Andrew Brayshaw and had played golf with him and Hamish 5 days before the incident was #FakeNews. Pav debunked it on twitter yesterday. Said that Andy Brayshaw had never met Gaff and did not golf with him. But of course the so called "journo" would have already known that if he had bothered to fact check, but that wouldn't have suited the "OMG he punched his mate!!" narrative he was going for.
