Cain Liddle on Collingwoods huge offer for Davey:

"Negotiations are going well, Bri is our captain and we're really comfortable she is committed to being here long term"

"Certain that Bri will be our captain next year and continue on so we don't have a problem there"

* we're hopeless.

Why didn't we give him a fulltime position last season, we know he wants to go into a coaching role and loves to train younger players

He wanted to continue working for last season but we didn't offer him a big enough position. Like Andrew Walker and mentoring the indigenous boys, we lowballed ex-players and they went elsewhere.

Armfield has been coaching local league kids instead with Andrew Carrazo as far as I know. Armfield co-coached one of the women's team in the International Cup last year too, so he obviously wants to help out with women's footy.

Continuing his playing career, Armfield has also agreed to a part-time coaching role at the Club as a specialist skills coach for Carlton’s women’s team.

Armfield will work alongside senior women’s coach Damien Keeping and the Club’s assistant coaches in the one-day-a-week role.

Half arsing things once again. Whereas North have a fulltime position for Ex-Carlton assistant coach- now norths senior womens coach Scott Gowans, and a fulltime head of womens footy, while we're still looking for ours, probably only a part time position.

I know we look as though we aren't doing great things with wage inflation in some areas of football department spends, but I'd like to have some idea of the different department structures at each club before I call our approach incompetent.

Dennis and Walks do not strike me as gun coaching hires.
