For those who caught the Bains interview, did he just refer to Roughead, or did he say Jordan - or Jarryd, or was he using the name Roughead interchangeably?

Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
Plenty of other fat we could cut to free up cap.English, Noughton, Edwards look like requiring a little cap space in the next 2-3 years. Bont still to be signed up plus a number of other players the club has probably identified as being a priority in that same time frame.
Is it possible that the club couldn’t offer Dahl more coin/years without putting these other contracts at risk ?
Don’t forget Dahlhaus has his roots in Geelong / Leopold ... went to St Joeys. When I think of Dahlhaus, I think of turnovers. Both him creating them and him producing them. We are worse off defensively but better off offensively.
Would another player, playing his role provide more defensive turnovers?
The 2015/16 Dahlhaus was great but where he is now, I am happy to let him leave for the Cats.
Good luck Lukey.
There's only a very small chance West gets bid on after the first round, so the compo pick would get used on matching the bid for him if we don't trade it.
It's what I'm hopingTrue. You’d think the club will look to trade the Dahl compo pick then.
Around the 375k mark according to this article
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-06-23/afl-pay-rise-richard-hinds-column/8642772
Something has to pay for West though. It's what I'm hoping
What’s the median average? Because we have some massive contracts going around I think the median would be a better indicator as to what’s averageI never understood this though. The maths doesn’t add up. Even with Draftees and Rookies the remaining 34 or whatever on the list it only averages out to $330-$340k
That's a nice thought but the only year he's kicked more goals than behinds in his career was when he kicked 7.6 in his second season, overall he's kicked 64.88 in 85 games. I wouldn't necessarily be against the move but he would be statistically one of the bottom handful of worst kicks for goal on our list if we got him.I have slept on it but it is time for Brisdog to come out - I am into Billings. Our team craves a laces-out left footer in the forward half, a bloke who can kick more goals than behinds (potentially). And even though I currently feel sorry for St Kilda, I actually hate the aunts and will never forget that game in 15’ where they carried on like a bunch of aunts, Clay did his knee and Billings kicked 5. Get it done.
This is a fascinating observation. The way Hawthorn have dealt with their senior players lately, Roughead could be offering Lynch his spot. Clarkson is a ruthless little bastard when it comes to moving forward at all costs.
The money side of it I don't have a strong opinion on, bit I do feel strongly that our first year list manager was absolutely right to limit his contract offer to 3 years, given Dahlhaus is a 26 year old whose form has deteriorated over the last 2 yearsBrushing aside that something has obviously happened to sour the relationship somewhat.
4 years 450 I would have been perfectly fine with. I doubt the club offered that and I suspect he would have taken it if he was moving out Geelong way for 4/500. After tax and in terms of actual dollars in the pocket, the difference between 4/500 and what we are rumoured to have offered is significant for a player like him.
A little sliver of extra cap space is useless in the grand scheme of things. You're taking the good player over a little extra cap space every single time.
2006 they get Jack Hawkins for pick 41
Woops. Tom. (fixed)I don't think Jumpin Jack would be still jumping in 2006
How would people feel about this over trade period and draft
In Pick 7, R.West, Khamis, Roughead (Hawks) and a player such as Billings/Martin etc (a player who plays a specific role) and we keep Liber and Wallis.
We've got enough if Roughy gets a third round compo.Something has to pay for West though.
Fuuuuuuuck I hope this happensOn the Jarryd Roughead situation.
Dogs have put forward a 2 year playing contract with coaching aspect after playing. Similar to the Hodge and Mitchell deals.
On the Hawks side of things they are interested as Roughy will be on 750k at Hawthorn and require more space in the cap to acquire Wingard and either Shiel or Lynch. Hawks will pay about 300k of the salary meaning the Dogs are up for 450k.
Roughed is torn as he can see the benefit but also loves the Hawks so much and the idea of being a one club player means a lot to him.
Hawks have left the decision up to Jarryd and it may come down to if they get a commitment from Wingard and either Shiel or Lynch then he will accept the move to the Doggies.
Not going to say this is my source or that I heard it from here. This is Big Footy so take it as you please just passing it on.
