Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
Won't be Toumpas, he thinks he'll make another AFL list *laughs* doubt Trengrove too, he'll probs play a bit of AFL next year.Trengove or Toumpas at a guess
Outside chance “The Butch” ???
MAGPIE WOES
Port Adelaide CEO Keith Thomas is genuinely concerned and worried about the welfare of the Magpies after finishing second to last only above the Crows this season. The club has entered into negotiations with the SANFL for a better model for the Magpies in regards to retainment of contracted player as well as the structure of the Magpies Reserves side who was winless in 2018.
Just seven players of last year’s Grand Final side remain regular players for the Magpies with several players such as Robbie Young, Tom Gray, Louis Sharrad and Nathan Rudloff being forced to leave the club for more opportunities at League level.
Yep, but if we say have 12 NGA players who are 18 in 2020, we get the opportunity to play all 12 of them after the U/18 championships for 4 games each and then next year (2021) ie when they turn 19, they can be signed up BUT as one of the 10 contracted players and we can play them as well. The following year they get released to a SANFL club if they dont get drafted or move interstate
Gives the incentive to go find NGA kids and Father sons as the wording include father sons - I will go edit my post - ad we get to play them for 4 games to see how they go against men - before they get drafted. Not great but not bad either if we work the NGA well and we seem to be in line for a few father sons the next few years.15 spots are now 10. (With a technicality added)
Since we have only 10 spots and 14 players unsigned from last season, I reckon I'd keep everyone apart from Ryan North, Simon Wong, Dale Finnie and Lewin Davis.I'll try to update what happens with the 10 Maggies spots in this post & thread.
Unsigned:
Jack Kluske - Medium sized forward and midfielder who played all 18 games this season, kicking 10 goals.
Sam Davidson - Forward Flanker who played 15 games.
Jack Strange - Small defender who played 13 games in 2018.
Levi Proude - One of our best SANFL listed players, Terrific midfielder who played 12 games.
Simon Wong - Played 9 games in 2018 in the back pocket.
Darcy Ginever - Son of Timmy G, Back Flanker who played 7 games.
Mitchell Mead - Son of Darren Mead, Back Flanker who played 7 games.
Dale Finnie - Medium sized backman who played 5 games.
Harrison Morgan - Medium sized forward who played 5 games.
Michael Ortiz - Outside mid and small forward who played 3 games.
Kyle Crompton - Midfielder who played 4 games.
Mony Makoi - Ruckman who played 2 games.
Lewin Davis - Played 1 game in 2018 on the wing.
Ryan North - Didn't play any SANFL games in 2018 and spent the year in the Academy.
Gone:
Steven Summerton - Retired from SANFL football, Will probably go play country footy.
10 SANFL listed spots left.
Good pick for angoFor those interested, just read that Steve Summerton will be playing up in the Barossa for angaston next year.
Good pick for ango
Correct me if I'm wrong but the new rules re Magpies Captain/Leadership Player are:Justin Hoskin re-signs with Centrals, so you can rule him out being our captain.
Looks like Sam Davidson is sticking around. SANFL doing promotional work for their new league sponsor.
Sorry to intrude but im guessing that Davidson will probably be captain then.I like Davidson. But I really wanna keep Levi Proude, but I'm sure another club has already spoken to him.
Can't see it, hasn't got much experience and he's only 19, turns 20 next year. If we don't recruit an experienced SANFL player it should only go to Levi Proude.Sorry to intrude but im guessing that Davidson will probably be captain then.
Any of the 10 players that don't make the side probs play in the ammos.Cannot see why any player would stay unless you are on the AFL list.
AFL players must get picked first according to the rules and if you don't make the side where do you play now there is no academy side ?
Former Port junior signs with Glenelg.
