Is that why GWS pulled out only minutes after Dusty left? It's one thing to threaten to leave, touring an interstate club is something else entirely, you don't do that unless there's an issue, GWS were the ones who backed out, not Martin, but you believe what you want mate.

According to GWS, they pulled out because Dusty spent the whole time talking about how great he thought Richmond was, and they didn't want a guy who clearly didn't want to play for them.

It was eery that day watching Melbourne supporters celebrate a loss like they won a premiership. They were literally cheering when Richmond goaled.

It would be amazing irony if it's Richmond vs Melbourne in a Grand Final 9 years later and Dusty is the reason Melbourne lose.

and neither of the 2 picks they took before him are even on their list any more.

Or Scully is the reason Melbourne win...

Oh wait :(

I heard they pulled out because he couldn't String two words together.

Why would GWS pull out so early? Just makes no sense, they could've played the game to make Richmond pay full price, but they instead backout just after? Lol.

Believe what you like, Martin was on the market.

Lucky for you, because you'd be nowhere without him.

Dusty is that good, if you roll up Friday night without him Collingwood become flag favourites.

Please stop posting. You're a half decent troll but you've embarrassed yourself in this thread.

that is unfathomable. Scully was touted as the consensus no.1 pick and the dominant player of his year. He had almost a Jaegar O'Maera level of hype.

Countless articles, and recruiters going on record to say he is the best player of the draft.

Also straight from the horses mouth (Francis Jackson): http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/2014-11-19/tiger-draft-recall-dustin-martin

Richmond only ramped up their interest in Martin after they found out Melbourne committed to taking Scully and Trengrove at pick 1 and 2. This doesnt suggest Martin would be taken at pick 1 or 2.
Not sure your link supports your case. Why would Jackson say, "We were ecstatic when we found out that Melbourne had committed to Tom Scully and Jack Trengove" if Richmond preferred one of them over Dustin Martin?

If Richmond meets Melbourne in the GF then it's come full circle from that day. The dees were in their tanking era, trying to lose, but we were still so s**t we couldn't beat them. It's up there with the lowest quality games of football ever. To then meet on the biggest stage would be remarkable.
