Except the kids who end up with a rubbish education instead of a decent one. And as for ready made schools - going to just steal Church property?

Oh yeah and taxpayers, they will get stuffed too given the private system subsidises the state system so much.

Other than that, an excellent idea.
Yes, church isn’t using it can probably get at fire sale prices. Or tax them on sale with capital gains.

So you don’t want private schools at all? It would be like getting rid of private hospitals as well. The whole system would collapse!
Private hospitals are good if you aren’t really sick but when you are and they don’t have an ICU you get transferred to the nearest public ED

No. Do the maths based on 100 kids and the rate going from 41% to 10%

So would cost more AND the effected kids would get a worse education.

thats lose/lose

regardless the FAIREST solution would be for every child to have a voucher to go to whatever school they liked. Its madness to think the govt should have a monopoly on education provision.
Now that is an interesting idea. Would said voucher be worth cost of educating a child of that age for a year (say 10k) then if you chose to home school the parents got the money?

Even the OZ was hopping into Shlomo this morning for his policy on the run. They even said the libs are basically broken in terms of being able to make policy that is good for Australia. When newscorp is admitting it its over.
The cancer on democracy bets on both sides for personal benefit,he has his favourites but cant always get them over the line.
His greatest fear would a royal commission into the media and democracy.
Lets hope his power is wiped out over the next term of government

Will SloMo resign from Parliament if/when the LNP get the arse?
They will either go for an attack dog like Abbott or the daggy uncle sacrificial lamb to take the heat for a few years.
Then reset with the next contender
it should be at-least 2 terms before they get close maybe more

There’s a centre v right preselection battle raging. We’ll know what the dominant faction is after the election

Long term we probably know where thats heading with the young libs ready to step up lurching further to the right .
The only thing that will stop it is electoral failure

So the Libs will have two ex-PMs clogging up their party? When was the last time that happened?

We need to be a republic and we need a president not a Prime Minister. 4 years a term without these switching leaders every couple of years.
I don't claim to know much about politics but something's gotta give, Australia's a laughing stock! Nationally and internationally

We need Di Natalie for PM. s**t has been boring for too long it's time to see large business attacked with large taxes and regulations so we can all laugh.
