Put a nom in but not happy with it.

Annoyingly a lot of the songs I thought about that have 'stressful themes' are mainly related to depression and drug addiction, which I don't think fits the theme per se. IDK. It's very confusing where to draw the line.
I've gone down the "factors that induce stress and their effect" path myself.

Depressing songs and songs about drug addiction shouldn't be stressful unless you're a drug councilor for lifeline.

This is a stressful song:

If you haven't done your shopping
Or this:

If you're MWPP s boyfriend

(366 MILLION VIEWS BTW- It shouldn't surprise me as my nieces love the stupid ******* song for some reason and have probably watched it five or six million times in my presence, but still 366 million????? )

Submitted a song. If it's accepted, you will all bow before me and my literally unbeatable song. If it isn't, I never cared anyway, this contest is stupid.

Do you know any other duck related songs that you could introduce them to instead?
None they haven't heard many times before.
Its a family tradition that everyone gathers around the piano for a sing-a-long when uncle Willie puts on his red white n blue speedos.

I didn't post my own comments on songs from the previous playlist, so here they are.

God of all Texas - Can You Quack ?
One of the worst songs in the history of Song Contest. Well played, Wonka :D
Wouldn't surprise me if William Wonka wore nothing but a cape and jocks and swung his junk while he was posting.
[LOL, just saw his post above. Suspicion confirmed.]

Bonnie Tyler - Have You Ever Seen the Rain? [billy]
:musicalscore::musicnotes: "It's an earache... Nothing but an earache"

Vinnie Vincent Invasion - Do You Wanna Make Love

Vinnie's amplifiers go to 11

Alice In Chains - What the Hell Have I

What the Hell Have I... [Layne nods off mid-sentence with a cigarette in his hand]

Spice Girls - Who Do You Think You Are

Does anybody remember Bardot? How come the Spice Girls got all the glory?

The Loft - Why Does the Rain

Sounds like Chappyuk has been picking through the dusty second-hand vinyl at the Camden Market

Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean?

It's so slick and overproduced. It sounds like a million bucks. Probably cost them at least twice that to make it. Says on wiki that Bieber's "breathy vocals make it soulful", but I thought they made an okay pop song bloody irritating.

Richard Hawley - Can You Hear The Rain, Love?
What the f**k was I thinking? I should've known all you ADD plebs would have an allergic reaction to a lullaby crooner.
Most of you wouldn't know quality if it knocked on your door and punched you in the face. campaigners.

Abba - Does Your Mother Know [1 vote]
Abba had more hooks in one song than some pop stars have in their career

Imogen Heap - Have You Got It In You?
Needs some cowbell.

Jack White - Would You Fight For My Love?
I like the idea of Jack White more than I like the music of Jack White

Tyler, the Creator - Who Dat Boy
Good stuff, probably should've given this a couple of votes.

Rammstein - Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?
Every song by Rammstein goes the same way. After one minute, I'm like "F**K YEAH!!!". After two minutes, I'm thoroughly bored.

Bruce Springsteen - Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street?
You're not the Boss of me!

Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him [2 votes]
Is he jealous of the girl or the guy? I can't quite work it out.

Edgar Summertyme - Mister Can You Tell Me
Eh, it's alright. Certainly not worthy of the 4's and 5's some people were giving it.
Pig's arse this is better than the Richard Hawley song which I nominated.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Was I Right or Wrong [4 votes]
I hadn't heard this song of theirs before. As my votes would indicate, I really enjoyed it and probably overscored it thanks to a few Jack Daniels and cokes.

Spring King - Who Are You [3 votes]
The most rockin' song on the playlist. Good one, Loons.

Van Halen - Why Can't This Be Love
This song has always annoyed the s**t out of me. EVERYTHING about it grates on my nerves.

World Party - Is It Like Today? [5 votes]
A deserved winner. The only song of theirs I've heard is the classic "Ship Of Fools", but this is nearly as good. Sweet tune with an ecological message that's probably more relevant now than when they sang it in 1993.

Sorry if I'm taking a while to reply to PMs at the moment everyone is in even if I haven't replied to you.

I nommed 30 seconds ago. Where's my acceptance?

Money - Pink Floyd

The reason it stresses me out is because of the weird time signature. It's 7/4 beat pattern and it drives me a bit bonkers waiting for the 8th beat which never comes.

Ettude Op. 10 No. 4 - Chopin

Insane finger moving!

"you can't care enough for me to care" - John Moreland

It's about the end of a relationship, with stress being a sub-theme.
And you need something stronger
A drug to kill the hunger
And ease the awful pain of living here
When I'm strung out on leaving
Exalting all my demons

And you don't care for me enough to cry
Now I'm underneath the rubble
Trying not to feel the trouble
And you don't care for me enough to cry

Psycho suite - Bernard Herrmann

The Psycho theme music is the most unnerving music I know.
Just puts me on edge from the opening bars. And those scary violins!!!

I'd like to nom the following, it stresses me out because it's the last song on my playlist before I run out for footy games. Just wires me for some reason.

Mad about you - Hooverphonic

The singer reminds me of an obsessed ex partner from many years ago.
This stresses me.

It's not fair - Lily Allen

What if girls think this about ME~

Damaged - Plum
Musically the beat means that I can't relax to the otherwise beautiful vocals, and yet, there's something about this song which draws me to it, despite the above .

Florence + The machine - Ship to wreck

Sometimes - Midnight Oil

The lyrics indicate the stress. It's a live recording with a mixed film clip, but it gives the song an urgency it lacks on the original recording.
I know that the sunset empire shudders and shakes
I know there's a floodgate and a raging river
I say the silence of the ribbons of iron and steel
I say hear the punch drunk huddle drive hammer and steel
Sometimes you're beaten to the call
Sometimes you're taken to the wall
But you don't give in

I know that the cannibals wear smart suits and ties
I know they arm wrestle on the altar
I say don't leave your heart in a hard place
Sometimes you're shaken to the core
Sometimes the face is gonna fall
But you don't give in

Levon - Elton John

A boy is stressed because he's bored with his life yet can't get out of his job because it's part of the family ritual.

Manic depression - The Jimi Hendrix experience

Heavy cross - Gossip

The mole - Hans Zimmer

Because Dunkirk is the most stress inducing movie I've seen

#songcontestnominations

Weight - Brockhampton

Hopefully this is fine, it's about the band members' struggles with issues like self-harm, alcoholism, pressure and drugs amongst other issues after becoming famous which all either cause or are related to stress.

Kill me before I kill you - the december sound

It is a song about the stress of a relationship.
Other than that the ending isn't exactly relaxing

No stress - Laurent Wolf

Следи за собой · Кино

The song is all about death and misfortune and watching out for yourself. That's probably enough of a link, but by extension the title roughly translates to "watch out for yourself".

First date - Blink-182

Carry stress in the jaw - Mr Bungle

#songcontestnominations

Full of tension - WALL OF VOODOO

Uptown funk - Bruno Mars & Friends

This song is on at every single damn work conference and function.
It reminds me of things that annoy me like networking, listening to sycophants, pretending to enjoy activities, and dealing with emotional drunken staff who are only one imagined move away from a hashtag-metoo moment.

Yep. Stress.

Catastrope - Midori Takada

Votes due Sunday 8:15 for an 8:30 release. If someone could make a playlist that would be great. Happy listening! Not a bad selection of songs.

That duck is a massive campaigner. I'd shoot that tosser and eat him for dinner.
