Both have game changing level talent, Chad probably had the better start to his career.

Both have similiar game style and are moving into the middle.

Who is better and disregarding age who would you prefer to take?

Heeney 'moving into the middle' happened in the finals of 2016. Has been a full time mid ever since, certainly all of 2018 he was only a midfielder.

Wingard's a proven star and should have no issues continuing that at Hawthorn under the best coach of the modern era.

Heeney's a natural at everything though. The type of player who could become the best at any position other than the key posts.

Wingard has more runs on the board, however, your two-part question includes the most important question of the two, i.e. who would you take.

Ahhh fair call, but would you say he is a full time mid or mid/fwd?

Last year it was Parker who was the designated rotating mid/fwd. He played out of the goal square a fair amount.

Heeney was predominantly a midfielder, and then towards the end of the year we started using him as a little bit as a swingman late in quarters. Like when he took MOTY he was loose in defence.

Wingard by a mile. Same situation as the Lynch/vs Hawkins argument. One is a star and the other isn't

Chad probably had the better start to his career?

Is that a piss take? Wingard was a duel AA player at the same age. Chads start to his career was infinite times better than Heeny

It's a nice way of saying it, kind of like if I were to say Heeney probably had the better start to his career than say Petracca for example.

Petracca and Heeney have had a much closer start to their careers than Heeney and Wingard had.

Heeney has been better for the last two seasons, don't see that changing.
Heeney has been better the past 2 seasons?

Heeney has on average less disposals, less goals, less goal assists, similar clearances despite more midfield time. Not sure how he has been better than Wingard in the past two years.

Yes better last two seasons.

Aside from the simple test of watching and rating his impact higher, Heeney received more Brownlow votes, coaches votes, higher in the player ratings, better fantasy score averages, all while being three years younger. Heeney has a greater impact off less possessions, something Hawthorn supporters surely understand given it has been the catchcry for years.

Greater impact off less possessions in what way? He hits the scoreboard less, less score involvements, less goal assists. If you look at midfield stats (which he spends more time playing) He is down in disposals and meters gained while being even in clearances. And you said he was better the past 2 seasons so age means nothing, if you want to argue he will end up better that is a different discussion.

Fantasy score means absolutely nothing and votes for awards are always going to be partly dictated by team success and other factors.

Obviously I rate Hawkins and not Lynch. Lynch a 27 year old 40 goal a year forward. Save for one year where he kicked 60. I don't get the hype unless you're talking second forward.
