For a top matt coat, most people recommend Testors Dullcote, I also recommend Army Painter Matt Varnish.

A common way to seal minis that see a lot of handling is to first finish them in a resilient gloss - the one everyone recommends is a floor polish from Pledge that has had dozens of names and labels (but the same formula) over the years, currently called Pledge Revive It Floor Gloss - and then spray the less damage resistant matt over the top.

Got this one painted just before my NYE trip

Reaper Bones Goroloth, a base of Vallejo Duck Egg Green, and then used Badger Minitaire Ghost Tints (Oil, Green, Magenta) over it to create the colour and depth, plus the tail spots were Vallejo Yellow Fluo over white. Left it shiny because fish are shiny.

Thanks NTRabbit ill do a test run and see how it goes!

I just broke and went to get the Testor’s from HobbyOne - advice was not to touch the model for at least an hour after spraying or paint might come off.

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

Trying to work out how to get a recognisable "MAGA" on the red hat...
I assume you'll do it in white?

Suggest you first do a grey then white over the top. And just take your time with a really good detail brush.

You can always paint over the whole thing and start again if you don't like the result.

Finally painted in Vasquez’s plasma rifle.

Then I tried to dry brush on some OSL. As expected it looks completely pants close up, improving to meh from a foot or two away.

FFS - guess what happens when you don't notice how dirty your painting water is, and you use it to dilute your Agrax Earthshade?

Correct! You get a chalky look on your model, with light pigment settling in details, and you need to go back over it all again with colours and washes.

It's a good habit to change the water every painting session at a minimum.

Probably not as bad as me washing my brushes in coffee today....

Indeed it is, on both counts.

If you like war gaming and beer, then you should check out Axes and Ales which is Thursday night at Tallboy and Moose in Preston.

My fellow Kill Team campaigners (as in we are running a campaign, not bigfooty campaigners), went down last night.

Great times and great beers.

Highly recommend.

You can join for $60 per year, which gives you 10% off beers on game night, but you can just rock up and play like we did. You can also organise random games via their Facebook page.
