2018-2019 NHL Season

What an absurd opening period in Chicago. Both teams may as well have an extra attacker and play with empty nets at this point.

DSP placed on waivers and it’s sounding like Hagelin might be involved in a trade with Jaskin and a 3rd rounder. Not sure how I feel about Hagelin coming in and whilst it’s sad to see DSP go he has been poor this season

So do you give him a long term deal or bridge him?
Long term, but it's just interesting how much he has struggled this year.
I would bridge him. If he doesnt score hes basically useless.

It such a tough decision. If you sign up long term on the cheap and Laine eventually gets his act together. Then potentially you have a $6m per season superstar instead of a $10m per season. That would be a big win in a salary capped environment.

But Bridge him is the safest option for sure.

Trade Laine, he's a spud.

He’s no Dale Hawerchuck, one of the only other six players to score 100 NHL goals before the age of 21: Wayne Gretzky (167) Jimmy Carson (141), Dale Hawerchuk (122), Steven Stamkos (114), Ilya Kovalchuk (108) and Brian Bellows (102). Laine sitting on 105.

I’d lock him up long term and if this “quiet period” drops the price a bit all the better.
Avoid the bridge.
