NZ just changed their gun laws on the back of the Christchurch terror attack, once again shows how weak the US are with their continued stance to not give up their guns.

They also have an electoral system where 18% of the population elects the majority of the senate. That would be akin to Queensland contributing 40 senators in Australian parliament, or 3.33 Fraser Annings.

Compound that with very weak anti-corruption laws means it's very profitable to pander to that 18% rather than actually do things for the good of the people.
