Really rate this kid, Jack Allen, is he still growing, thickening up?
Surprised he isnt in the academy. He should be ahead of a few others on work ethic alone. I reckon he will be a lock for the 18s squad after the adelaide camp.

South freo beat Claremont over the weekend and had a few standout players one being number 17 from freo. Anyone catch any other futures games over the weekend or know results or standout players??

Another first round futures game.
This game was a drubbing...

Perth need a complete overhaul at junior level.

Every year their teams in the junior development carnivals get flogged on the scoreboard. They really need to strengthen their grass roots if they want any hope of becoming competitive at this level.

Thought we could start a thought provoking thread on all the boys up and coming from WA who have a decent chance of being drafted. I think we need to start with the 2019 cohort.
Luke Jackson
Deven Robertson
Jeremy Sharp
Trent Rivers
Mitch Georgiades
Rhai Arn Cox
Elijah Taylor
Jack Buller

Feel free to discuss away anything you hear - school footy starting soon, growth spurts etc!
I do know this -Luke Jackson looking very much like the AFL player since quitting basketball. His draft order must be rising rapidly!

The above link gives some good insight to recent athletic testing done and talks about how some of these boys are going.

I know I sound salty but the report boasts the performance of certain players who compared to others, didn't perform that well. I guess journalists cant capture everyone.

I must admit, I was very impressed with Jonathon Garlett. His technique was superb. Athletes could really improve a lot if they had an athletic background like this kid.

Wallrodt, who has relocated to Perth from Bunbury this year has enjoyed a strong pre-season that saw him train with Swans’ League squad. He produced excellent results in the vertical jump (60cm), the running vertical jump (73cm), the 20m sprint (2.90 seconds), the agility test (8.40 seconds), and the yo-yo test (level 20.6).

Peel Thunder’s James Ewing was also impressive with his test results. The raw and developing defender tested strongly in the vertical jump (62cm), the running vertical jump (79cm), 20 metre sprint (3.04 seconds), agility test (8.62 seconds) and the yo-yo test (level 21.3)

These are the results of some of the West Perth boys who clearly smash the above athletes.

It's weird. I know some results that beat all reported and yet they aren't mentioned.
Selective journalism.
I was told all results were ranked and sent to clubs. Be nice to see the final rankings.
Especially as the ones I know beat the academy kids.

Hopefully things sort themselves out as the season progresses and the cream rises to the top.

yes fully agree. why single out kids who weren't even up there? anyway, as you say, the cream does rise and its exciting when it does. Is there a complete list of results?

PSA footy will start up again soon will be interesting to see what the season brings with last years year 12 leaving and the younger ones pushing up. Any guesses as to what schools will dominate the firsts this year?

Anyone got results and standout players from this weekend futures games

surely aquinas will remain dominant. sharp and McDonald leading the way. not sure about year 10's who might push up. theres a few kids in year 10 who have made younger state teams but some are still only 14.

Hale will be very strong and possibly the team to beat with Georgiades, Oscar Morcombe and Kellen Johnson.
