Now that Foxtel has 4k is this any chance of happening ?

How will footy fans on a budget watch footy in 2019 ? Would be good if there was a FoxFooty only streaming package like Netflix in 4k or even 1080p available for smart tv’s. I don’t want other Fauxtel channels.

even a streaming sports package would do

and can’t believe you need to get a bloke out to install a box . Where is the zero installations required streaming option

Apparently it is happening. But probably for only one game of AFL and one NRL per round in 2019.
For AFL, I'd assume the Saturday 2.10pm game. They've been making that game into a big deal with preshow and post show at the end of the season.

there's only one 4K channel and the channel is not the FoxFooty channel (it is it's own entity channel, at the moment), so if it's going to do any AFL it'll be re-broadcast in 4K on that channel. So any games that overlap will miss out, along any 4K broadcast lines.

On the Fox Footy channel?

Why would they bother wasting an opportunity to broadcast in 4K on the Saints v Suns shitfest?
They do one 4K game saturday and sunday when they're the home broadcaster. Both will be in Melbourne each week because makes the most (logistical) sense. Games dictated by fixture. One game on Sunday in Melbourne.

Highlights are blown out. Looks awful which is a shame as the picture is quite sharp.

Fair enough. So it's the cripplefest tomorrow by default, there was no choice for the 4k game.
