He may just be an enigma and can’t maintain the performance yet(ever). Freshness isn’t something I buy in to too often so thinking freshness could be a confirmation bias but still things to work out with him.

that bit of squib late is probably the heavy 1100. genuinely run 1100 in mud not his go. still might be able to run 1200 if he can dictate but is a week in week out 1000m horse for sure.
He would have destroyed the lightning stakes field. that race was perfect for him. The only way he will run a group 1 1200 is if he sits off them. He is too brilliant for it right now. Maybe next prep

I was in the pub and had a go on pierata, thought it had won then results came up wtf,did anyone see the prints?
I msged two mates and said bannggg I thought Pierata got it sky racings coverage was poor didnt show anything then all of the sudden Nature Strip pops up the winner

The black line with Pierata's black nose probably makes it look closer. He's got a hair on the line at best, NS is fully on the line.

Undetectable painkillers form part of racing investigation into Darren Weir, Jarrod McLean

The Sunday Herald Sun understands an injectable substance remains integral to Victoria Police’s probe into Weir’s fallen training empire.

McLean, Weir and former Weir employee Tyson Kermond were all arrested and released without charge following stable raids on January 30.

Police recovered several items, including four jiggers, an unlicensed firearm and a quantity of drugs, in simultaneous raids at Ballarat and Warrnambool.

Saddles and other items were also seized.

The Sunday Herald Sun has been told a line of inquiry concerns a now-retired multiple Group 1 winner with chronic hoof issues.

The horse’s form tapered off severely last spring as integrity staff closely monitored Weir and McLean’s stables.

The Sunday Herald Sun understands a substance, which is not registered in compliance with Commonwealth and State regulations, was found at a stable.

The substance is readily available in Australia, but there is speculation cheaper foreign products have infiltrated the market, possibly from China.

Victoria Police’s Sporting Integrity Intelligence unit continue to investigate Weir and McLean along multiple lines.

The unit is probing activity including obtaining financial advantage by deception and engaging in conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome of an event or event contingency.

Police are believed to have used recording devices such as cameras and phone taps during the investigation.

Several races from last year are under scrutiny.

The Mackinnon Stakes and Grand National Hurdle, which were won by McLean-trained Trap For Fools and Cougar Express, respectively, are also known to have drawn the attention of authorities.

The Sandown Cup, won by Weir-trained Yogi, is another race under the microscope.
