How did girgarres practice match today go

Nyah are in a real low phase and will not have the resources that Chalky is used to and my experience is that he gets frustrated with that. If they can stick this year out and give him a chance to recruit over a full off season it could turn around

They must have some serious coin if they recruited the 3 Melbourne players that Briggs recruited to Ardmona

Hayden Phillips from Kilmore/Cragieburn???? If so, Only 21/22 years old, Gun!!

Had a look at lancy vs calivil a lodden valley side, good game of 4 quarter senior footy with calivil getting up by 2 goals there was a few notable absentees from lancy. Was surprised to learn that Hilly had retired massive loss for Lancy with Eddy and Barrett also gone,But on the brighter side Steve Thompson looks really fit and up and about, James Ross from Ky also stood out.Just not sure if lancy are any better than last year but will certainly worry sides with there run and spread game that they play

Chicken wing are any players from last few years still there if so who's still there and who's gone? Hmm

Rolled over to undera yesterday, to watch them playing waaia. Seen most of the 2s and the seniors. Reserves looked old and lacking pace but seniors played very well and where up by roughly 60 points in the 3rd quarter. Waaia kicked the last 5 goals of the game but undera still took a healthy 27 point win. Good signs out there. Best players from what I seen Kane Herbert, Ash hockey, Rhys McKenzie and also jack Hajro looked good after a stint with Echuca United.
Also Noticed Tommy durwood running around but looked below par for his own standards might just be under done

Our improvement will come from within
Developing our younger players will continue and as they mature and gain experience we could have a very good squad
The clubs in good shape plenty of numbers in both footy and netball
Stable off the field as well
So we will be better than last year
Will we get better results who knows
Won’t be from lack of trying

I have a mate who played with Goorambat and from what he was saying I am surprised they managed to get a team together this season. They lack off field support, same old story, too few having to do too much to ensure a team gets on the paddock. The young farmers like him who got the Batters up and going years ago are not so young anymore and can’t commit week in week out.

Off our league but I need to re-assess a statement I made about the other Batters. Talking to a player yesterday who said they have recruited quite well (he is one of the recruits and loving his new club). Goorambat should be stronger than last year but not a serious premiership threat just yet.

Murchison-Toolamba had a good hit out against Katunga yesterday. Good numbers on the park, with some added depth in the Reserves.

Seniors played 3 ‘quarters’ and few stayed out there to join the Reserves for 2 ‘quarters’.

Good signs for the coming season.

Caught a little bit of Avenel V Yea yesterday. Tinkler started forward and kicked two in the first quarter, led up and took a few marks early as well. Maynard McKenzie looked very good. They still looked good across the back line- look like they will be very versatile this year.

What was the result of this game?
