AFL APIs

I'm playing around developing a Footy Tipping app for shits and giggles (well, mainly to upskill in React, Angular and Vue) and wondering if anyone knew of any free APIs to get the fixture, live results and/or ladder?

I'd rather not resort to any screen scraping getup if I can avoid it.

AFAIK they don't exist, the AFL controls it too tightly.

There used to be a way to pull some live data (including scores) directly off the Hun website in json format, but it was more a quirk of their code than anything intentional. This was a few years ago and I have no idea if it still works.

I was just searching for this very thing and came accross https://api.squiggle.com.au/ . It has upcoming games, completed games, ladder etc. Nothing about stats in there, but mainly game score if that's what you're after.

Yeh, I've actually been using that! Found it not too long after posting this thread. It looks like it has everything I need at the moment.

Yep, and if you use R, there's also fitzRoy, which provides access to detailed stats from afltables.com and footywire.com, although I don't think it's near-real-time like Squiggle.
