Round Two produced some good matches again with Perth winning a nailbiter over South Fremantle while East Perth produced an upset to win a tight game over Swan Districts. West Coast Eagles also won against Peel Thunder, registering their first ever win in the WAFL.

From a tipster's point of view, most tippers recorded a total of three this week with a few others scoring either side of that. gaskin was the premier tipper this week getting a score of four while getgaff got the bonus point as one of only a handful who selected the West Coast Eagles to defeat Peel Thunder. That bonus point ensured getgaff finished with four points for the round.

All up, Miguel Sanchez has extended his lead to two points, leading the competition with a score of nine while there is now a five-way tie for second place with a group of tipsters on a score of seven points.

Round Three Fixtures

Subiaco vs West Coast Eagles at Leederville Oval (Friday, 1:15pm)
Peel Thunder vs East Fremantle at David Grays Arena (Friday 3:45pm, twilight match)
East Perth vs Claremont at Leederville Oval (Saturday, 2:15pm)
Swan Districts vs Perth at Steel Blue Oval (Saturday, 2:15pm)
South Fremantle vs West Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (Sunday 2:15pm, margin)

Round Two is behind us as we approach Round Three which is set to take place over the Easter long weekend. The opening game of Round Three sees Subiaco host the West Coast Eagles on Good Friday in the day's early game. The Lions had a relatively comfortable win over the Sharks in Round Two and will be keen to continue their good start to the season while the Eagles got their first win in the WAFL last week and would be interested to see how they stack up against the competition's best side last year. Later in the day, Peel Thunder will battle East Fremantle in a twilight match at David Grays Arena in Mandurah. The Thunder will be hurting over their loss to the Eagles last week with East Fremantle heading into the game looking for their first win and might fancy their chances with the Thunder missing some players due to injuries to some of their AFL aligned players.

Saturday sees East Perth hosting Claremont at Leederville Oval. The Royals caused a bit of an upset in their win over Swans last week and will be keen to showcase their younger squad against the Tigers who have looked very good in their opening two games with very comfortable wins. In the day's other game, Swan Districts are back at home, taking on a much improved Perth side who had a very good win against the Bulldogs last week. Can Swans win their first game of the season or will Perth continue their winning ways in 2019?

The final match of the round and the TV match this week is South Fremantle vs West Perth on Sunday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. Souths suffered somewhat of a shock loss to Perth last time out and will be keen to make amends against a West Perth outfit still finding its feet with a new coach and new personnel due to some departures at the end of last season. The Bulldogs will also be keen to avenge their preliminary final loss last year to the Falcons at this venue so will go into the game with even more incentive. Telecast of the match itself begins at 2pm on Channel Seven with bouncedown scheduled for 2:15pm in what should be a pretty entertaining match.

There's some movement in the Colts and Reserves match this week. Peel Thunder and East Fremantle's Colts will get underway at 10:40am on Friday with the Reserves to follow at 1:05pm while Swan Districts and Perth's Colts and Reserves start at their usual times of 9am and 11:30am respectively.

East Perth and Claremont's Colts get a sleep in on Saturday with bouncedown scheduled for 11:30am with the Reserves to play a twilight fixture at 5pm. It's a similar story on Sunday for South Fremantle and West Perth with the Colts beginning at 11:30am and the Reserves featuring in a twilight match also at 5pm.

The weather is mixed for the long weekend. Friday is going to be wet and windy with a storm and even hail possible although most of the rain should be in the morning. Just 18 degrees is expected on Friday so some warm and wet weather gear will be required. Saturday is better with a morning shower or two and 18 degrees predicted once again. Sunday is looking like the best day of the three with a sunny maximum of 21 degrees expected during the day although a pretty cool morning with a minimum of just six degrees forecast.

Well, that's about covers it for this week. With the Easter weekend coming up, a big weekend of football awaits and hopefully that weather will clear quickly so we can see some bumper crowds over the five games. I hope everyone has a happy, safe and enjoyable Easter and long weekend. Happy tipping!!
