Round Three was generally a pretty good round game wise with several close matches making things interesting across the Easter long weekend. Despite the close games, the round proved to be the easiest so far with most tipsters getting a score of at least four or above. Miguel Sanchez, RickSanchez, Monocle and myself were the top tipsters this week, all scoring a perfect round in tipping all five games correctly. Newcomer Westozbb got the bonus point this week and was just one point away from South Fremantle's 17 point win over West Perth to also finish a score of five for the weekend.

After three rounds, Miguel Sanchez leads the way on 14 points with myself in outright second on 12 points. There's a five-way tie for third place between a group of tipsters on 11 points.

Round Four Fixtures

Perth vs East Perth at Mineral Resources Park (Thursday 4:10pm, margin)
Claremont vs West Coast Eagles at Claremont Oval (Saturday, 1pm)
West Perth vs Swan Districts at Joondalup Arena (Saturday, 2:15pm)
South Fremantle vs East Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (Saturday, 2:15pm)
Subiaco vs Peel Thunder at Leederville Oval (Saturday, 2:15pm)

Onto Round Four now which is the ANZAC Day round this weekend. The first of Saturday's matches begins with Claremont battling West Coast Eagles at Claremont Oval in the early game at 1pm. Claremont have been impressive this season, winning their three games comfortably and will head into the game against the Eagles full of confidence. The Eagles will be confident too, having pushed Subiaco on Good Friday but just falling short in the end so will go into the game knowing they can match the stronger sides in the competition. Up at Joondalup, West Perth are back at home to face Swan Districts with both sides winless so far in 2019. It's a big game at the Arena with any potential losing team to go 0-4 and face a real tough battle to make their way back from such a start.

Fremantle Community Bank Oval has the first of the Fremantle derbies this year with South Fremantle to host East Fremantle in a traditional Saturday afternoon affair. South have begun the year in reasonable form while East Fremantle have improved with each round and were perhaps a touch unlucky not to upset Peel Thunder last week. The Sharks haven't won a derby for a while so they'll be keen to make amends and get a win on the board against their arch rival. The final game of the round has Subiaco hosting Peel Thunder at Leederville Oval. Both the Lions and Thunder had close wins in round three so we could see a repeat again with both teams having had some tough contests in recent times.

The opening match of the round and our TV game this week is the ANZAC Day clash between Perth and East Perth on Thursday in a twilight fixture at Mineral Resources Park. Perth have burst out of the blocks this year, winning their first three games to begin the season and will be hunting a fourth as they take on an East Perth outfit still finding their feet after ending their alignment with the Eagles in the off-season. It's sure to be a great game with both teams looking to win to set their season up in the early rounds. You can catch the game from 4pm on 7mate, bouncedown is at 4:10pm with this game to get underway after the completion of the AFL ANZAC Day match on Channel Seven.

As has been the case, there's movement on the Colts and Reserves this week. The Colts' matches begin on Friday with the Subiaco vs Peel Thunder fixture taking advantage of the school holidays with a 2:30pm bouncedown while Perth and East Perth will play a night match at 6pm that evening. Saturday sees a pair of twilight games with South Fremantle vs East Fremantle and West Perth vs Swan Districts beginning at 5pm. The Reserves sees Perth and East Perth doing battle at 1:10pm on Thursday while the West Perth vs Swan Districts, South Fremantle vs East Fremantle and Subiaco vs Peel Thunder matches will all begin at 11:15am on Saturday in order for each match to complete their ANZAC Day ceremonies before the League matches get underway.

In contrast to the wet weather we had for part of the Easter break, the coming weekend is set to be fantastic one weather wise with a sunny day and 29 degrees expected on Thursday while Saturday will also be sunny and 30 degrees.

That about covers things this week, after a pretty good round over Easter hopefully we can see another solid round of good matches for the ANZAC Day round. I hope everyone has a great ANZAC Day and weekend, happy tipping!!

Round Four proved to be a bit tricky for most with no-one selecting a perfect round. Claremont lost a thriller to the West Coast Eagles which many stumbled on while a number of tipsters didn't pick Swan Districts defeating West Perth up at Joondalup.

This week's top tippers were Spanna_, hansie, masai, Monocle and swannies who all got four tips correct this week. Freofalcon secured the bonus point for the round after getting the margin exactly correct with Perth's 37 point win over East Perth.

Overall, Miguel Sanchez sits on 17 points and still leads by two with Monocle and myself now tied for second place on 15 points while there's a group of tipsters in a tie for fourth place on 14 points.

Round Five Fixtures

South Fremantle vs West Coast Eagles at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (1:15pm)
East Fremantle vs West Perth at New Choice Homes Park (2:15pm)
Peel Thunder vs East Perth at David Grays Arena (2:15pm)
Perth vs Claremont at Mineral Resources Park (2:15pm)
Swan Districts vs Subiaco at Steel Blue Oval (2:40pm, margin)

Round Five sees a return to Saturday afternoon matches with an early and later starting game this week. The early game features South Fremantle hosting West Coast Eagles at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. The Bulldogs had an easy derby win in Round Four and will be hoping to continue that form against an Eagles outfit which caused a big upset of Claremont in a thriller at Claremont Oval and in turn secured a spot inside the top five at the completion of the round. Can the Eagles cause another upset or will the Bulldogs continue their winning ways at home this season? Just down the road, East Fremantle and West Perth will face off with both teams yet to win in 2019. East Fremantle had been relatively competitive until their drubbing at the hands of their arch rivals last week while West Perth have also been competitive but struggled against Swan Districts in what has not been a good start to the season. Both teams will be desperate to get on the board this week so expect a fierce contest as both clubs chase their first win.

Peel Thunder are back at home for Round Five and will take on East Perth down in Mandurah at David Grays Arena. The Thunder were outplayed by Subiaco last weekend and they'll be keen to atone for that against their former alignment rival in East Perth who faced similar issues against Perth on ANZAC Day. The Royals should regain a couple of players and will be hoping that will give them a boost heading into their clash with the Thunder. Perth and Claremont will lock horns at Mineral Resources Park in what is Round Five's Match of the Round. The Demons have begun the season superbly, winning their first four games in what is their best start to a season for 41 years but will face a real test when they play Claremont who suffered a shock two-point loss to the Eagles last week. Both teams head into the game having played some impressive football in the opening month and this match is set to be a cracker on Saturday afternoon.

The final game this week is also the TV game and that sees us head to Steel Blue Oval in Bassendean where Swan Districts will host Subiaco. Swans enjoyed their first win of the season last week, accounting for the Falcons at Joondalup and will look to test themselves against Subiaco who remain undefeated having beaten Peel Thunder by 62 points in Round Four. The telecast gets underway at 2:30pm on Channel Seven with bouncedown scheduled for 2:40pm. Afterwards, you can flick over to 7mate for more football with the AFL telecast match for the evening.

The Colts and Reserves' fixture is fairly straightforward this week with all games to get underway at their usual starting times of 9am and 11:30am respectively with the exception of the Swan Districts vs Subiaco fixture which sees the Colts' match start at 9:25am with the Reserves to follow at 11:55am.

After some good weather, things aren't going to be as good this week with a shower or two forecast for Saturday both in the morning and afternoon although they should start to clear during the day. At the moment, 1-4mm of rain is expected with a maximum of 24 degrees so you might need some wet weather gear if you're at one of the games this weekend.

Well that about does things for this week. Hopefully we can see some close, hard fought matches in the coming round and that the rain clears up by the time we're ready to get things underway. Happy tipping!!
