God the Swans get a good run. Carlton v 25 in that last quarter.

The game was distorted due to Carlton's inability to convert. Not much you can do about runs of goals if you can't convert simple opportunities.

Field position and run of play said Carlton was in control early. They were leaky end to end and they cleaned that up.

When all is said and done they'll owe SOS. He has picked the eyes out of each draft and opposition list during his time in charge. More hits than they had any right to expect.

Frustrating if you're a Blues fan that it hasnt come together sooner but that's a reflection of having to turn over more than a lists worth of players in 24 months and not having much in the way of picks to accelerate the rebuild. They weren't really at ground zero in SOS first year or even Bolton's (if they were different).

De Koning and Williamson will be very good players. Setterfield is looking more of steal by the week. He's one of the midfield pieces. Curnow and Kemp to come.

Lots to work with.

I like that Fagan has this reputation as a good bloke, cool head, father figure.

Hard to argue that he is very good at the basic motivational side of the game, creating an environment to enable players to excel. Jury's out whether his team does enough to negate an opposition when things are not working (and that's essentially the heart of finals) but he's nailed a big part of what makes a coach good.

Does make me laugh, though, that half the time he appears on camera he's cracking the shits.

Bit of old fashioned intensity. I suspect that kids may be a bit scared by it not really knowing what it's about but there isn't really any other way and I doubt that its a problem.

Young guys need carrot and probably a bit more stick. There is a difference between intensity and blowing up out of character. Boundaries are not that hard to establish.

It's a basic principle of evolution that fathers socialise boys partially out of fear/physical respect. I'm sure someone can do a better job of articulating it.

This is Craig Ballemy, he is the perfect coach imo.

Love watching the Storm play, when the camera pans over to the box after a storm try he is always unhappy with something but at half time he is cool, calm collected.

Commentary getting sucked in by things in Payne's game that don't really answer whether he is the right option.

His positioning has been pretty bad. I'm not sure he's made a spoil.

Big strong kid who they might just be able to protect enough for now for it to work and definitely something for the future because of the good things that were on display.

Lynch and Hawkins destroy him tonight.

I only saw the last quarter and the first two contests I thought he stuffed both up.

I like his size and he seems pretty mobile, I reckon he can make it. Let's see how he goes against Reid and Casboult though

I like seeing Fagan get a bit animated when coaching on the boundary, rather than sitting there looking like a stunned mullet like Woosha.
Liked how he also said in his presser that he had a bit of a crack at Rayner for his shot at goal. Wouldn't happen at EFC, players might get offended.

Apropos of nothing...criticism of players for having a joke with the opposition after a loss is bloody ridiculous. Same as criticism of our players for having a laugh at half time.

Some people need to get a life.

Sheeds was fairly calm in the box and never gave to any of his players in after match presser. Neeld used to go mental, talk tough and openly criticise his Dees...and he was a disaster
