Maurkice and Mike Pouncey retired.
The Pounceys leave the league at 31 years old. Maurkice was drafted No. 18 overall by the Steelers in 2010, while Mike went 15th overall to the Dolphins in 2011 and played two seasons for the Chargers. Maurkice's retirement saves the Steelers $8 million in cap space, and raises some questions about Ben Roethlisberger's return, as Pouncey -- a nine-time Pro Bowler -- and Roethlisberger talked often about playing as long as other. A chronic hip injury ended Mike's final NFL season in September, when the Chargers placed him on injured reserve following surgery. Mike was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent.

exans released J.J. Watt.
Watt in a video posted to Twitter Friday morning said he and the team "mutually agreed to part ways" after his release request. The Texans, true to form, chose not to trade Watt for draft picks or any other form of compensation. A first round pick in 2011, Watt became the face of the Texans franchise over a decade of underachieving Houston teams that were never real championship contenders. Watt, Pro Football Focus' seventh highest-graded edge defender in 2020 who has the third most QB pressures since 2011, is sure to have multiple suitors in the coming months. The potential trade of Deshaun Watson from the dysfunctional franchise leaves the Texans in rebuild mode with few short-term prospects.

To me, will always be the GOAT receiver.

There's a reason I have 84 in my various usernames/email addresses, and it ain't the year I was born!

Nuggets per sitting.

Maybe it will be a Watt Trio in Pittsburgh?
Seems likely if he wants to play with his brothers. and would take Vet min. the marketing/endorsement contracts he and TJ could get together in Pitt would make up any less in salary.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Steelers, Browns, Bills, Titans, and "approximately a dozen teams" have expressed interest in J.J. Watt.
Watt asked the Texans to release him, and they obliged, making him an unrestricted free agent heading into his age-32 season. It's no surprise that half the league is already lining up to sign him. Watt likely already knows where he plans on signing -- perhaps joining his brothers in Pittsburgh if he's willing to take a big pay cut -- but free agency doesn't open until mid-March. Despite the dip in sack production (5.0), Watt was graded as the No. 7 edge rusher among 124 qualifiers per PFF last season. His 40 tackles were tied for fifth at the position. He can be an asset on a Super Bowl contender for the next two seasons or so.
