Do they really gain that much from going from West Lakes to Thebarton though?

I mean wasn't the purpose to be in the city?

Seems like a lot of effort for not much.

Nah Thebby is good for them. It actually feels like a football club. It has soul. Its in a busy part of town. West Lakes has always been beige, sterile and in the middle of nowhere.

Watching this game is proof that high scoring games are not always exciting.
Admittedly it might be because both teams defence is rusty
Last week the defence was also a piece of the game that was severely lacking. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe the new rules, or maybe just the shortened preseason is a factor?

Remember the 90's AFL where it would be kick, mark ,jog back, kick, mark, kick, mark jog back, kick, mark jog back goal or point rinse and repeat and do it slowly end to end. High scoring but if you go back and watch most games there was not much line breaking at all.

I don't ever remember footy being like that and I've been watching since the 1970s

Jack Silvagni takes a decent mark

Camera pans to Stephen Silvagni
