I was at Epping Plaza this morning. Half the jointwas without masks. Idk if I missed something with the update of rules. But no one was cracking it or anything, including staff of the big stores. Wearing a mask was like wearing a cap, if you did you did, if you didn't you didn't.

Because they are virtually optional now, very smart re-wording by the government that most people are too dumb to work out.

Masks are required where you can't keep 1.5m distance

Now most people just see ' masks are required ' and carry on. Now if the messaging was changed to

Masks are not required where you can keep 1.5m distance

Everyone would rip them off because all they see is ' masks are not required '
Was at the casino the other night, next to nobody wearing masks. It's 10x busier than a shopping centre, yet not required. Everybody was jumping from machine to machine touching buttons, yet the only sanitizer i had seen was upon entry. It's amazing what crown can get away with.
Smart people.

All you have to do with these people is this.

them: wear a mask, think of others blah blah blah
you: do you wear it outside
them: no ( which is what the answer will be )
you: so now we have established you don't wear the mask because of a virus, now have a good think about why you wear it.

She told me it wouldn't kill me to wear it for 10 mins in Bunnings and I told her it wouldn't kill her if i didn't wear it for ten minutes in Bunnings, like if I was exempt for example. Therefore, it's doing nothing if exempt people aren't spreading the virus but not wearing a mask so no need to wear one.

That's not right, they are still required at shopping centres regardless of the 1.5m thing according to Dan's 'rules'.
  • Face masks must be worn:
    • on public transport, in commercial passenger vehicles such as taxis and ride share vehicles, and in tour vehicles
    • by visitors to a hospital
    • by visitors at a care facility (while indoors)
    • indoors at shopping centres, retail facilities with 2,000 or more square metres of indoor space, markets and market stalls
    • on flights to and from Victoria and
    • at airports
    • if you are diagnosed or suspected of having COVID-19, or a close contact of someone diagnosed with COVID-19, when leaving your home or accommodation for a permitted reason, such as medical care or to get tested
    • while awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test when leaving your home or accommodation for a permitted reason, such as medical care (except as part of a surveillance or other asymptomatic testing program)
    • while experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • It is strongly recommended you wear a face mask when at a private gathering or when you cannot maintain 1.5 metres distance from other people (such as outdoor markets, outdoor concerts, street markets, at a busy bus stop or train station platform).
  • There are a number of lawful reasons to not wear a face mask.

My local Woolies which is inside a shopping centre has this message playing on a loop.

" in accordance with government regulations, masks are required where you cannot keep a distance of 1.5m from others "

first time i had heard this so like i said very smart wording from the government because when they eased the mask rules a few weeks back they mentioned the 1.5m thing for both outdoor and indoor.

With some exceptions, like the shopping centres, supermarkets etc.

But it's all bollocks anyway because it's unenforceable.

The message prior to Feb 26 and all the way back to when they were introduced was this at my local woolies and they are paranoid beyond belief in their messaging.

" in accordance with government regulations, masks are mandatory in most indoor settings "

The wording changed from mandatory to 1.5m, it's why you are now seeing more and more people without them in shopping centres.

Well I just ducked out to Aldi and there were three of us without masks on (usually I'm the only one) so that's an improvement!

There is something over the loudspeaker at my Woolies but all I can recall is that they say something along the lines of 'in order to protect your health all our staff are wearing masks', I can't remember anything other than that (as in nothing about the customers).

It is annoying isn't it because they play the message every 10 seconds, more and more in my local shopping centre not wearing them now, as the weeks go more will follow I hope.

I was at Southland a couple weeks ago and I actually convinced the lady I was with to not wear it, she always wore it despite having an exemption and only because she didn't want to be abused by people, I kept saying I will step in but no she kept wearing it, anyway this particular day she took it off in Southland but only after seeing other people of all ages also not wearing it and myself pleading with her to take it off.

No one should have to prove sh*t! Vaxxed or not!

I bet you’re the type that will wear their vaxx card on a lanyard with glee "hey look at me I'm Vaxxed!"
I think you will find it will be an app or a stamp in your passport

and it wont have anything to do with me or you not wanting to be vaxxed

and it will be the future including yours .you might as well prepare to accept it if you want to travel and go to certain places and venues

Why is it that I trust Russell Brand more than I do Julie Bishop, Virginia Trioli, Julia Baird, etc.?

edit: I meant Julia Gillard, but you can include Julie Bishop as well.
I'm a big fan of Russell Brand, puts together good short clips that are succinct and backed with some good solid evidence, his longer Podcast chats are great as well.

Big pharma are very trustworthy and are a beacon of our humanity. Right Venkman?

No they're not and I haven't said that.
Just saying that they make drugs that do what they say on the tin - lower your blood pressure, make you have an erection, stimulate your immune system to be able to target a specified viral threat... whatever. I agree with most of his stuff. Note that he's not pedaling the misinformation we see posted here.

Will we actually need it to go into certain venues? I know there is lots of talk but surely not

Well we should prob add a stamp for every potential unhealthy thing:
Drugs
Alcohol
Smoking
STDs
Not doing 20,000 steps a day
Watching too much TV
Maybe Add mental illness
Criminal records
Speeding fines
Parking fines
Bad school reports
Unsupported fact checker posts on social media

I mean the list is endless really

Only 100% pure untainted humans can have full access to whatever life the state says.

Nah, I’ll stand up for your rights even if you’re too weak and scared to do it yourself.

Your misinformation that Bill Gates is a friendly nerd whose a fantastic humanitarian is the most dangerous misinformation posted in this thread so far really

Can you admit he is a flat out horrible human being yet? Imagine how much evil you must embody to to force a company against its will to make profit from a life saving product as opposed to mass produce it and do it for free.

Do you want to attribute some deaths to Gates horrific actions? Single handily slowing down vacdine development to profit from it. Top bloke though

Honest question

If someone commits domestic violence, people get a passport and are allowed in to Australia. A constant thing. Do you think we should let these people in? Do you think for example if you commit any violent crime they should get a mark on there passport or banned?

And I guess to a front, what’s more dangerous. A violent women basher or a non vaxxed grandma. According to Austraia, it’s the grandma..... I’m sure this is okay though ?

The point is. Police the danger all the time or non of the time. Doing it half assed just leads tthe fact it’s better to bash a woman then refuse a needle in Australia’s eyes

You've lost me with the Gates reference. But yeah Bill Gates is a brilliant man that is turning his considerable talents towards trying to eradicate what's left of polio, address sanitation in third world countries, effectively respond to malaria - most his vast fortune has been pledged to humanitarian causes after he dies. If I was supreme emperor of the world, I don't think that I'd run things along the current globalized capitalised system but in the world as it is I'd prefer the Billionaires are more like Gates and less like Bezos. There's something not right about drug companies making drugs for profit and there are lots of problems with it , such as the high costs of AIDS medications for third world countries.
