It'd be just like our recruiters to pick the wrong Jai Culley...

It's happened before with Hawthorn and the wrong Matthew Suckling...

Swans are taking a player - watch them steal a rival 19s academy player.

Jai Culley plays for the Dandenong Stingrays(Vic Country), not the Sandringham Dragons(Vic Metro).
Paddy said on breakfast program this morning that Max Ramsden will not be going to WA. West Coast interviewed him along with Culley and Carmichael and have settled on Culley. According to Paddy word got back to West Coast that Ramsden wasn’t interested in relocating to WA.

Eh? Pretty sure there's some sort of rules around academy 19s where they're off-limits for the extra year (as if they were still 18). I haven't re-read that part of the CBA for a while but I'm pretty sure there's a rule.

Also anyone that nominates for the MSD is fair game really. If some other club was going to pick them up, they should've done it 6 months ago, or promise to do it at the end of the year if they don't nominate.

I mean if we're playing that game Jacob Bauer should be off limits, yeah?

I doubt it mattered whether he wanted to go or not as eagles were always taking culley at 1 and ramsden will be gone before their 2nd pick anyway

Unfortunately seems to be becoming more of a thing these days, victorians allegedly saying they dont want to move interstate. Usually its unconfirmed but worrying if true.

It seems like clubs are asking that question a lot more as well. No one wants to invest time and money in someone who doesn't want to be there, and given the depth of talent it's often not a huge difference to take the next kid on your list.

When it is a huge difference, they roll the dice anyway. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose (Tim Kelly, the GC Adelaide boys, Bryce Gibbs, half of the Victorians that went to expansion clubs, possibly JHF at this stage, etc).
