Lloyd wrote a quality article about which clubs could win the flag next year and who couldn't. 9 teams cant, 8 teams can.

We just didn't exist.
I'm staggered (no, not really) that they haven't come out and corrected it. So does he drop someone out of the 8 or add ii one to make 9? As I've said elsewhere Lloyd is a dipstick

That’s not correct.
Lloyd discussed this with Kane Cornes on trade radio. The quality article was written by a fox sports reporter based on the trade radio conversation.

It wasn’t Lloyd that left us out.

An idiot writing about what another idiot thinks.

The footy media is appalling. We deserve better.

This popped up in the app update but it's the only place where this has been reported, so it's almost definitely wrong.

NAB AFL Draft - AFL.com.au has us trading in a pick tied to GWS and trading out our pick.

I can't get the AFL trade tracker to load, but here's Fox Footy's summary of yesterday:

11. GWS gets Pick 15. Brisbane gets Pick 21 and the Giants’ future second-round pick.

13. Gold Coast gets Thomas Berry, Pick 46 and the Lions’ future second-round pick. Brisbane gets Picks 25, 36 and 56.

You can pretty much bank on the fact that we currently hold GWS's F2 and GC holds ours.

Better tell the Suns that

Yeah it's a little confusing about whether we traded our future second or GWS' pick. The Suns, Lions and the AFL.com.au tracker say we traded GWS' pick but the AFL house twitter account, which I'd normally take as gospel, says we traded our one. Worth noting that in the Suns release Cameron is quoted mentioning by name that it was the GWS future second that they received.

I don't care which pick it is, I just want some consistency!

Ive just said this on our board and its worth repeating here. Dunkley is our current BnF. And he is easily a better player than Taranto who was apparently worth a first and a second rounder. So thats the bench mark. And not future picks.

You guys have traded out from a position where we would want any of your current picks. We dont need him out, he wants to move north, we have 3 options if you guys cant/wont offer a reasonable return;
1. We shop him to GCS. They have trade currency which you dont and it still gets him to SE Queensland
2. We re-sign him for another year, then hes an UFA and can go wherever he wants
3. We force him to the PSD in response to you guys offering way under market value and GC not being interested, he gets snapped up by North (or West Coast) and ends up not in Queensland at a bottom end club

If you guys dont have picks at least at the Taranto value what players would you see us accepting who youd part with? Bear in mind our principle weakness is our defense. Id take Harris Andrews as a straight swap but cant think of any others.

Thoughts?

I think you will find that what supporters expect and what both clubs have agreed in a trade are completely different. The trade would have been agreed before we traded out our pick 15 and there is no way we will be trading out experienced players to satisfy what your supporters expect is fair value. The trade will be our future first and probably pick 21. The quicker you get used to that the better.

It may not be on the table if pick 21 goes to Hawthorn for pick 24 and Gunston.

You will be legitimately disappointed come the end of trade week then
Nah, we dont need him gone. If you guys arent serious about bringing in a gun, thats OK too.

Your list management needs to offer a fair trade or it wont happen. Your future first could be 17 or 18, thats effectively a 2nd rounder. Gotta do better than that.

We need to offer a better trade because you said so? Is that you Sam?

Also, none of us are list managers btw so maybe you should call the club and chat to Dom.

Be clear - Taranto wasn't 2 1st rounders it was a 1st and a 2nd round , pick 19 happens to be on the early side of 2nd round. The proposed trade is no different. There seems to be some confusion surrounding the GWS future second if it was traded to GCS, however our future 1st and GWS's future 2nd rounder ( if still available) next year will be very similar to an early 2nd rounder like what the tigers gave up for Taranto - Based on GWS ladder position this season- can see it being roughly the same next season)

What a hot take 😂

Please limit these kinds of posts to your own board 👋🏻

Dodongo thinks you should accept the fact now you will not get what you want so you can get over it by the time it happens. Dodongo can refer you to a shrink if it will help you accept the loss you are about to have.

I’m sure trade radio will upload the interview but here are some tidbits:

Bit to get through, but exciting. Still want to split more picks for points.

Not going to go in to specific details of the Dunkley trade. Discussions with the Dogs. On track to get the deal done. Hopefully ticked off in the next few days.

Concentrate on Gunston deal now. Thinks/wants a deal later than 30-odd but Hawks want more (obviously)

Good relationship with clubs. Can be a bit heated at times but respectful.

Mathieson’s manager indicated to them earlier in the week he might seek a trade but nothing official. Haven’t had talks with other clubs about him yet.

Wanted to keep Berry, but understands he wants more opportunities.

Hopes North doesn’t bid for Ashcroft at #1. “Hope they do the right thing for us 😂

Specifically mentioned Wilmot and Lohmann, more about them adding speed to the team next year. <- they’re not going anywhere, Bulldogs supporters 😂

Still having convos with Fages about the list and moves they’re making. Still very much part of the club. “Right now, he’s still our footy coach.”

Had a discussion with Bowes, but was more interested in going to Victoria than staying in Queensland.

The attraction was the whole package, not just pick 7. Dom Ambrosio has a connection to Bowes so was genuinely interested in him.

No changes to any coaching (line coaches or otherwise). Same crew. Discussions with Fages ongoing if any small changes will be made internally.

Have had discussions with Zorks about the captaincy. Players have a small say in who will be captain but match committee will make the decision.

No club has asked about Rayner. “Such a great young man. Had about three of four discussion with him in the last two weeks assuring him there is absolutely no way they’re trading him.” Bringing his brother up to play VFL next year.

EDIT: This is all paraphrased so I would HIGHLY recommend listening to the whole interview. He was quite impressive.
does anyone have a link to this interview?

dont see one on le trade radio site
