McKernan didn't debut at North having played 100 elsewhere, but the other 16 are all correct. Plus Saverio Rocca gets the full list. Darcy Tucker will also be added to the list - Tom Lynch will not.

2. Liam Shiels 255*
3. Farren Ray 198
4. Jarrad Waite 184
5. Saverio Rocca 156

Greg Eppelstun… never heard of him. Must have been very early 90’s when I was a pup?

Came over from the Dogs in 1993. Was a regular for them through the late 80s, playing for Victoria once. Played the first game of '93 against the Bears - Pagan's first game as coach - but that was it.

Nathan Buckley’s debut?

We’ve had mixed success with recruits from the Bulldogs over the years.

Dempsey and Higgins were terrific, Dunstan, Eppelstun and Reynolds not so much.

Would be great to have their number of games for North in brackets

Blakey and Higgins probably the standouts considering what they achieved.

I'd place Rocca, Waite, Scott, NDS, Colbert, Thompson on the rung below.

1. John Blakey
2. Shaun Higgins
3. Sav Rocca
4. Robert Scott
5. Leigh Colbert
6. Jarrad Waite
7. Nick Dal Santo
8. Nathan Thompson
9. Aaron Hall
10. Matt Armstrong
11. Calthorpe/Ray/Tyson/Pittard/Polec/Rawlings/Epplestun
12. Hay

Is how I'd rank their contribution to North in their careers after coming over.

Hall probably close to overtaking Thommo imo.

IT's funny, they were all either busts or really good players. Very few 30-60 game types that were just honest battlers. Pittard, Polec probably the exception of those that we got OK service out of (but not considering what we paid for Polec in trade value and contract). i guess Waite and NDS fall into that category, but they were better than that.

To be fair I think Shaw*edit ****ed the career of Pittard and Polec by playing them totally out of position.

Each to their own but I’d personally rate Nathan Thompsons efforts for us more then then dal santos, his form for us pre knee injury was very good including an 8 goal game.

Sounds like Shiels will be working in our recruiting department with Brady and will also effectively be a hands on assistant coach on the track, but has been listed to dodge the soft cap.
..."but the body feels really good and I think I have a couple of good years of footy in me"......didn't count but reckon he says that 6 times.....there to set standards and I reckon he'll be playing Rd 1 in a warning shot to others. No matter how talented you are, if you're preparation and professionalism isn't up to standard, you're playing VFL until it is AFL standard or out the door if your contract is up. I think that'll be very clear from day 1 under Clarko, where some may have got away with cutting corners in the past.

As Nathan Buckley lined up for goal late in the final quarter to kick the sealer (which he missed) my folks stood up and said quietly “we’re going to get going and beat the traffic…….how disappointing”. Minutes later I was phoning them to say “you wouldn’t believe it but you’ve missed the comeback win of the year!” In my head I was actually saying “you f***ing idiots!”

As for Shiels, very very impressive individual and I’m rapt we have him aboard and setting premiership expected standards.

What a player he was for us.

That goal is etched in my memory and still do that celebration when I get something in the bin 🤣

I actually bought his final game jumper (adorned with Thommo’s blood from the broken nose he copped that fateful Sydney night) which he auctioned off to assist the rebuild of a country footy club which burnt down.

Not even close. And that's not a knock on Hall.

Reverse stat - 100 gamers for NMFC who left to play elsewhere since 1990.

Yes a famous victory against the side that finished second last with five wins, just under the then cut off of 5.5 wins for a PP.
Joke was squarely on the Pies who took Daisy Thomas and Urquhart Pendlebury.

We took Riggio with our first pick , must off been the Hay trade year I assume.

Interestingly that was 2005, 2006 the Pies finished 5th.

Dodgy as *.

Oh well
