If Lynch gets rubbed out for accidental contact in a marking contest I’m finished with the game of afl I can’t stand watching it anymore and Rohan Connelly saying on 3aw yesterday he reckons the game is in the best shape it has ever been in now you have media muppets scared to lose their jobs if they talk bad about the afl 😂

When it comes to umpiring, it's the "game sense" thing that gets to most of us. Seemingly no concept of where the game is at, how game has been played, prevailing ground and weather conditions etc. Swans v Port was an appallingly umpired game, and I didn't see it, but apparently North v Blues just as bad.

We can’t really complain
Government paying a fair bit for the punt road redevelopment as well

Plenty to winge about re Geelong but getting a stadium improvement isn’t one
Just need AP to unchain himself from the Jack Dyer stand so we can get cracking

People Need To cool their jets about Tarranto and Hopper, you can’t just insert two contested beasts into our midfield, change, the way we play and expect to just flick a switch and go, there will be some teething problems. Some embarrassing posts actually.

If theyre midfield beast as you say then why do they do basic skill errors?

I regret catching up on this thread. Umpiring discussion would be a bannable offence if I was a mod.
Problem with that is, threads would only end up being five pages long.

Maybe one day I'll get to read some actual insightful discussion.

Why all the mock drafts had him as a first rounder ?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They didn't. He was consistently in the 20-40 range

But it was also the type player he is. We drafted a poor man's Nick Vlastuin. If he's making an impact it won't be for a few years until the current backline retires

Bagging umpires after a close and annoying loss is just part of being a fan.....

Nank is simply not good enough to be a first tap ruckman. Doesn't matter what he does after or around the ground we are constantly on the defensive and it puts everything else we do under pressure. Lose clearance and all your scores need to start from the back half, just so much harder to score.
Our clearance problems were to do with the midfielders not the rucks. Nank had 8 hit outs to advantage and 3 clearances; Ryan had 2 h/o to adv and 2 clearances. The figures for the Dogs were 7 and 3 for English and 4 and 1 for Lobb.

They got very good games from English, Bont and Libba. They would have beaten plenty of teams yesterday. We're clearly playing with an eye on the second half of this season. Make the eight and build a team that can win finals this year and for the next few.

We're not playing good footy at the moment. We yet haven't found the right mix of players and game style. That doesn't mean the playing talent isn't there. It doesn't mean the coaches have forgotten how to coach. We'll be ok.

One more thing. Poor bloody Sampson Ryan must think that AFL football is only every played at the MCG when it's raining.

Mate do you watch the game? go watch it again and just count how many of Nanks hitouts go straight to the opposition or to no advantage at all. With the new rule changes it is just slaughtering us. It wasnt the only problem, our skills killed us again, thats been an issue since 2021 and it never gets better.

Got to feel for Ryan
Nothing really wrong with his selection yesterday with Jack out and needing ruck support for Nank
But it would be nice to see him in some decent conditions

Herald Sun, Damien Barrett and Kane Cornes calling for Lynch to be suspended 🤣 witch hunt underway

Never took his eyes off the ball in a marking contest, braces himself to protect himself. If suspended we should strike as a club

I agree we have the players, the mistakes we made were elementary all game, handpassing too much, and how many times did we kick it to an opposition player, it's all mental IMO. We showed in the second quarter how we can play, and as dissapointed as I am with our losses, we don't have to break the glass in case of emergency just yet.

Looked very invested too.

Massive overreactions in here. Disappointing but barring injuries we will be a lot better in a dozen weeks than we are currently.
I think everyone overlooks how the AFL fixture is structured at the moment. Plenty of commentators in recent years have been armed with statistics about the likelihood of making finals/top 4 from 0-2, 0-3, 0-4 etc.
They’re all meaningless because the better teams have predominantly played each other and likewise the lower teams.

Have a look at how many games Brisbane, Melbourne, Carlton, Collingwood, Sydney, us, the Bulldogs have all played against each other already.

Finals will depend on beating the lesser teams. If we win the games we are supposed to and improve through the season we will be fine.

If we can’t then so be it but losing to top four rivals in round 3 and 4 means nothing.
Great summary 👍

To much handball in the stoppages instead of dropping it on the boot like Bontempelli, no mucking around.

To wet to be handballing like a pinball machine

Seemed like an overcorrection from the Collingwood game. First half we bombed it forward and gave their half back’s great opportunity to run and carry.

Second half we hand balled out of the stoppage more for better looks inside 50.

Tried to do that against Doggies but didn’t have the balance right.

The mistakes and bad calls happen to all teams. There is no conspiracy against us.

A bunch of you are seriously deluded
The problem is that the umpires calls resulted in 5 bulldogs goals. In such a low scoring game that makes the umpires a significant factor What makes it worse is there is no official open review. Maybe all the decisions were correct and maybe the Tigers didn’t deserve any but as long as the AFL refuse to openly critique the umpires these claims of bias will persist
