Absolutely agree, he would be a massive challenge to get out of the Suns, especially this year while he's under contract.

But he's out of contract next year, and these deals take time to plan and advance. We should at the very least start speaking to him this year with a view to next year.

Granted, the Ben King free agency situation could also change the equation entirely. If King leaves next year, then Walter won't go anywhere.

Why are we chasing Cheap Charlie (Joke Joyce)? We should be chasing Jed Walter. He is the future. He is a Riley Tilthorpe type. They take a few years. He'd be cheaper than Charlie and he has far more upside as he WILL chase, defend and well as attack. He doesn't sulk and is the sort of player, the pack mark player, we need. McLean doesn't mark the pack mark often enough.We need someone who can split the packs.

This is 100% on the money, add mitch lewis as an option as well, a Walter or Lewie addition will will be signifincatly cheaper than what Curnow will cost and I am more confident we get a better return on investment then what Curnow will offer.

I wouldn't expect us to offer him that cash, we also have Serong coming in who is cheaper and performed better at VFL level.

He'd have a chip on his shoulder for next year, which could really propel him, but considering we're in for Serong that ship has probably sailed out of the harbour.

He'll be interesting to watch next year wherever he lands, because I could see him using this whole situation as fuel to get the best out of himself and prove the Saints wrong.

Admire your optimism Bonz but Marshall staying will give them more impetus to spend what they need as their most important requirement is off the table. Not that I want him to go but if we are still any chance anything we do has to involve Hayward is my mail. ( fwiw ) Carlton are very keen to get him there.

Rowy hasn't been linked to GC, except by some fans, and it didn't make a lot of sense for him or GC, even before the Petracca nomination.

Other than his sister being up there, I just don't see how Rowbottom is a list need for the Suns. They're shedding mdfielders already, and they're about to draft and shed even more. Rowbottom to the Suns makes zero sense.

Trading Rowbottom also makes zero sense for the Swans, we need guys like him. He can be a hack kick sure, but he's a devil in the defensive midfield role and frees up others to be more attacking.
