If Curnow fires, the 3 academy boys turn into top liners and we win a flag or three, this trade period will go down as the greatest by any club in the history of the AFL.I know it will always be 'Sydney paid three 1st round picks for Curnow', but the 2027 pick really needs to be considered as a separate transaction.
If bids for King and Carmichael, and maybe Kyle, all come inside 30, we were always going to have to trade something decent out to get the extra points.
but changes we’re desperately needed, if it doesn’t work out, so be it, at least we gave it a good shot, the best thing is I’ve got passion back for my team
Outs: Florent, Hayward, Mitchell, Fox, Buller, Leidler, Paton, Francis, Kirk
Ins: Curnow, Serong, Rosas
We have one list spot available at this stage to use for national draft but its likely we will move at 2-3 veterans to rookie list and go to the ND with 3-4 picks. Then off to rookie draft with 2-3 picks. Wonder if it would be worth keeping a spot spare for a swing at the preseason draft just to f**k with the Crows????
Does anyone have a link to the draft points table for this year’s draft? I spent a fruitless while yesterday search in for one.

We wouldn't be able to afford him, he'll put $1mil+ on his contract for next year as his price in the PSD, West Coast would likely be the only ones who could steal him, hope they do.Outs: Florent, Hayward, Mitchell, Fox, Buller, Leidler, Paton, Francis, Kirk

No, unless there’s a link to another spreadsheet there that I can’t see.List Mgmt. - 2025 Draft & Trade Thread - Picks 31, 32, 42, 60 and 71

Is this spreadsheet what you are after?
Yep so likely to go with 38 unless some academy players slip to rookies then we could do 37 +1 rookieWe have no senior list spots left after our 3 draft selections and only 3 rookie list spots (one of which must be used on an academy player or international player) regardless of what we do with Lloyd and Rampe.
That's the hope.Or it might be our Tom Lynch moment.

I was looking for the table that shows how many points each draft pick is worth. DVI?

That's a shame. Would love to stick one up the crows or even just drive up Ah Chee's price as a bit of revenge. We wouldn't be able to afford him, he'll put $1mil+ on his contract for next year as his price in the PSD, West Coast would likely be the only ones who could steal him, hope they do.
Makes you wonder what we have been doing with our contracts. Yet the Lions can add Allen and Draper to an already stacked line-up. I hear there's a lot of nice farms just past Ipswich being given awayIf we could only barely afford Charlie imagine how bad our cap situation would be if we kept Parker…..

I’d love to mess with the Crows but I think we are strapped for cash. Won’t get anyone in next year either unless we’re thinking of trading more players out.Outs: Florent, Hayward, Mitchell, Fox, Buller, Leidler, Paton, Francis, Kirk

I’m hoping Noah Chamberlain becomes the next Jordan Dawson. If Curnow fires, the 3 academy boys turn into top liners and we win a flag or three, this trade period will go down in history as the greatest by any club in the history of the AFL.
A few have mentioned Harry Kyle has Dawson like traits. Imagine if they both became as good? I'm hoping we take Mcnamara in the rookie draft. I watched the tiktok series about the academy and was very impressed with him. Looks like he's not as talented but has resilience and is a hard worker. Reminds me of Brett Kirk.I’m hoping Noah Chamberlain becomes the next Jordan Dawson.
This is true, but they should be as well prepared to walk in and hit the ground running sa they can be.There's no practice that can prepare a young player for the brutality and physical demands of a real game

I think other clubs are just begining to realise they are not here to supply Geelong, Pies, Hawks with what they want. Years past Roos, St Kilda and Essendon would have folded and given the "destination" clubs what they wanted.I wonder if there is any correlation between the AFL integrity unit sniffing around Geelong and them not being able to do what seemed like a simple deal for Marshall?
Thank god we’ve got Malceski in as VFL coach, these boys could be special.A few have mentioned Harry Kyle has Dawson like traits. Imagine if they both became as good? And that's the very healthy way to look at it. Of course it can all go pear shaped, but considering we were all begging for major list changes, our wishes have been granted and we need to give the club and recruiters the benefit of the doubt. If Curnow fires, the 3 academy boys turn into top liners and we win a flag or three, this trade period will go down as the greatest by any club in the history of the AFL.
This our strongest ever group of players in a single year?Thank god we’ve got Malceski in as VFL coach, these boys could be special.
Down the bottom of this page. It also has the 2024 points if you wanted to do a comparison.Does anyone have a link to the draft points table for this year’s draft? I spent a fruitless while yesterday search in for one.
The 2 main clubs that have been successfully indulging in forgoing draft picks for trades are Geelong and Collingwood. Both of whom can offer " special" inducements for top tier older players.A few reflections:
1. I reckon this is the first draft where teams stopped overvaluing draft picks (enabling trading of future future picks didn’t hurt) and clubs and players let each other know that they are willing to enforce their contracts.
2. I’m happy with our drafting overall. I think most on here earlier this year would have said that we should target a KPF, defender and a small forward - while thinning our outside stock. The only thing missing was the dynamic midfielder. The price from Carlton was high but fair for Curnow. I wish Hayward and Florent all the best - both great fellas who gave their all.
3. I’m also delighted that Geelong missed their targets and that Essendon and Hawthorn had a Barney over Merrett.
