I barely noticed him at Carlton, but just love him at the Bulldogs. When he gets the ball, and runs towards the attacking fifty, good things happen.
Seems a popular player with his team mates too. I bet he is looking at Carlton right now, thinking glad I left, that continuous state of mediocrity.
was constantly asked to adapt his game to accommodate our less versatile players and then dropped or subbed when a scapegoat was needed.

mismanaged and treated poorly for years and never complained. great player and by all reports a fantastic teammate and well loved by everyone. He would have nothing but well wishes from Blues fans. sad we treated him like that, but glad he's flourished for the Dogs.

If he was still at Carlton, with the way they are playing currently, so you think he would be getting regular games or it would be same old, same old?

Seems the same as Collingwood supporters love for Treloar. My stepdaughters are all Carlton and were disappointed when he was traded.

Theoretically, the trade of Jack and Caleb made hard-hearted economic and on-field sense, but I never expected it to play out as well as it has.

Playing for norf must be harder, but Im not sure we would have a spot for Caleb this year, and his form for them hasnt been great

Caleb got 3 more years off North on top of his existing 2025 deal, he'd be forever grateful to the Dogs because he wasn't getting that from anybody, including us.

From distance too. Don’t want to knock Macrae and Libba in any way but how good is it knowing Kennedy and Freijah can kick reliably from outside 50.
Libba on the left is one of the best kicks in the team.

Matt Kennedy is however a big reason our goal kicking accuracy is higher this year.

The sub out in 2024 seems to have done Bam Bam a solid.

He looks like he's been part of the Dogs fold forever.

Seems to play with a lot more freedom nowadays.

Tbh I thought he played out of his skin last year and expected a regression to the mean this year. Nope, he's become one of our most important mids. Absolute GUN

He did regress a little bit last year

20 goals in the first 15 games, 2 in the last 8

No coaches votes in any of those 8 games after getting 20 votes in the first bunch.

He wasn't poor by any means down the stretch, but was just another piece in our team instead of being exceptionally good.

I hope that doesn't happen again this year - we'll need him to have form coming into finals.

hard to tell what role he gets. do we tag in the midfield? I think we give occasionally get libba to look after certain opponents? maybe kennedy simialr sometimes?

Splitting hairs and correlation does not equal causation etc.

But earlier last year he was getting 60-70% centre bounce attendance, in many games were were playing at least without some of Bont, Treloar and Garcia in the team. But when those players returned it dropped to 40-50%

I think one thing Bevo might have done in the off-season was to recognise that Kennedy simply needs to be an onballer, a centre bounce mid, and even if for 20% of the game he's starting in the forward six at a centre bounce, his value as a player drops off immensely - more than the value of (say) Freijah or Bont's value to the team would be if they played forward instead of mid.

It's actually kind of ironic that he found ways to kick his 20 goals from 15 games more from the midfield, but when he was actually a forward line player, he couldn't kick goals (2 goals from the last 8 games)

Maybe the Bevo of 2025 would have pulled out Kennedy, instead of Bont, from the middle, when we let Richards/Libba/Kennedy cook and win us the game in the last quarter of our R0 win against Brisbane.
