I've posted that joke every year for about 5 years now. I was hoping one day you'd turn your talents to an image or gif
I'll save that pic and post it next year when I give the joke another run. With credit to you of course.😂
Couldn't give a fk what oppo supporters think about us. Given our record we are an easy target. The same morons who are whinging about the Battle compo would be laughing their heads off at us if we had only got Band 2.
Meanwhile, the fact the Premiers are getting the best player in the draft as a freebie goes relatively unmentioned by the media.
If they want to look at flaws in the system look no further than the current father-son rule.
Trying to establish what people think Battle's true value was. I know it varies depending on the length of contract but I'd say Pick 8 would've been around the money. I certainly wouldn't have traded him for that spud Mackay who got North pick 3.
Sometimes you have to take the club at it's word. I've heard nothing other than we are hitting the draft this year. Sure we'll hunt down MacRae, Soldo types on the cheap that fill a need but I'm expecting nothing other than we'll be chasing the best available mids with our draft picks.
I think a bit of a hidden advantage the Cats hold over other Vic clubs is that they have a semblance of the "return home" factor for players originally from the Geelong and Surf Coast area.
If a young draftee from the Melbourne area gets a chance to return to Melbourne after a stint...
💯
The much vaunted Sydney midfield of Heeney, Warner and Gulden was made to look second rate by the best midfield in the business. Neale, Dunkley, McCluggage, Ashcroft with support from guys like Rayner take no prisoners. Hands down the best midfield group in the AFL. And that's with a Tom...
Port need draft picks to get their trades done so will demand overs for contracted players like Houston and Soldo.
Let some other team be the suckers for once. Fair deal or walk away.
Ironically when Soldo was at Richmond I used to joke that Soldo looked like a 70/80s po.rn star or someone out of Boogie Nights. After seeing his missus I might have been right.
I'm not in the Soldo fan club yet. I get the need to find a Roma back up and we have been blessed that he's managed to play just about every game since Ryder left.
IMO Soldo is a step up from TC - Just. Comments that he's a 100% improvement on Campbell are misguided. Be prepared to be...
Agree. Soldo is one rung up from spud level. Would much prefer we at least experiment with a Marshall/King combo like how the Lions use Oscar/Daniher. Failing that give Heath and Keeler a try. What's the point of having them on our list otherwise? Hayes can be Plan B or C.
One good side to having a crap midfield -
Any half decent mid that is superfluous to needs at other clubs or who feels hard done by selection wise, will be keen to look elsewhere for opportunity. Obviously they will be looking for a new home where they'll regularly get a gig.
Guess where that...
What did that fkhead say last year when the spud Mackay got North pick 3?
I know the compo pick is supposedly linked to the respective contracts but I'd take Battle every day of the week over the now Essendon wan.ker
Don't normally post on oppo boards but congrats on a fantastic year. Hitting the post twice and the Sicily grubber that missed from close range, all in the last quarter, ended your dream.
In a wider view your 0-5 start cruelled you. Even the first Port game you lost after giving up a big lead...
Interesting melts on the Port board. Several references to Rozee as Captain Fairy and Butters being sledged as a regular non finals show. Some supporters don't know when they're lucky.
They can send them to us if they're unhappy.
I'm not really in the 'Get Houston' camp. I respect he's a gun player but in IMO he's a rung below elite. A great kick but more HB than a genuine mid. I'm okay with coughing up a couple of first rounders for an A grade mid that's in their prime, like LDU, but not so much where Houston is...
I think Geelong are a good case study and will be an interesting watch over the next few seasons. Pretty sure they are the only club never to have had a Pick 1 in the Draft. As perennial contestants for the flag they rarely get good picks. They've fallen on their feet over the years with...
Lukosius is a similar profile to Battle. Age wise and height. Also a forward who was sent to the backline.
He's probably headed back to SA but reports are Melbourne clubs have shown interest.
He'd probably cost too much draft capital anyway.
The guy is an absolute flog. He reckons we don't deserve band 1 but in the Hawthorn segment refers to Battle as a gun pick up. Pity that the little angry man, Clarkson, didn't put him through the wall when he eyeballed Purple a few years back.
