So Neale just got the Gary Ayres award (Finals MVP) and well as becoming a premiership captain.
I thought it’d be interesting to see what people think of some of the recent 2nd tier mids in the game and if Neale has gone up the rankings for anybody after this season.
Tough to pick but I think...
We all know Pendles has had an incredible career to date and tonight's final against the Dees happens to be Pendlebury's 29th finals match which means he should play his 30th next week or the week after, assuming he doesn't get injured. Perhaps more interesting is where he stands in terms of the...
Joel Selwood and Scott Pendlebury are undeniably 2 champions of our game. This post is not meant to be a slight or celebration of either player. It is however really interesting to look at both of their careers and marvel at the differing treatment each player has been given by the AFL via a...
...2012, 2013, 2019). Squad another 4 occasions.
I reckon there's a clear Top 3 since the turn of the century:
1. GAJ
2. Franklin
3. Judd
Pendlebury in the next rung, but has the potential to be considered on the same rung as Judd (and therefore ahead of the likes of Selwood, N. Riewoldt...
Collingwood have just announced that Scott Pendlebury has re-signed for the 2024 season, he has currently played 370 games and he is only 35. This new deal will take him past 400 games and possibly up to 410. Could he play on another season and break Brent Harvey's 432 game record?
Thought this would be a fun watch over the next (hopefully) few years.
Let’s see how Scott Pendlebury goes chasing down some of the all time records.
I’ll endeavour to update weekly! (And make it look nice next time I’m near a computer)

Pendles winning % as capt. = 44.03
Danger winning % as capt. = 62.50
And before we get the “but but but Pendles has a Norm Smith” I’ll happily remind you that Danger has a Chas, a Gary Ayres medal and no racism scandal under his tenure.
Imagine being less of a person to look up to than...
Radio running with story that Pendlebury has a one year offer in front of him from Pies but is making it known he will consider playing then coaching deal (like Mitchell). Hard to imagine him leaving but good fit for GC maybe to get some more leadership into the club?
On SM-G570F using...
Both are classy midfielders with above 300 games.
Pendlebury has been one of the most elegant player in the comp for the past decade (Ablett is the only one that was probably better than him) and is deservedly praised for it. He's played the most games out of anyone for arguably the biggest...
Scott,
Bucks told Adam Treloar that "senior leaders" at the club didn't want to play with him and you disappeared from the face of the Earth. Not a peep.
Now Collingwood have (reluctantly) released a report that speaks to systematic racism within the club - the targets of which have been some...
Probably a thread that's a little premature, given he's been in career form the past 2 to 3 years and looks likely to continue.
I'm sure there'll be calls of bias from this thread, fact is he is a one off player.
There has been no other player that gives the optic of slowing down time around...
This is a really good feature article on Scott Pendlebury from The Age. Worth a read.

...hairs breath in it IMO. Who is the better player?
Simon Black- 322 games, 171 goals, 3 x premiership player, 1 x Brownlow, 1 x Norm Smith Medal, 3 x All Australian, 3 x B&F.
Scott Pendlebury- 308 games, 178 goals, 1 x premiership player, 1 x Norm Smith Medal, 6 x All Australian, 5 x B&F.
I watched the end there, but in silent. Trying to work. Wondering if anyone mentioned it. Or for that matter, how many times this year they will. Feel like every time I watch a Colonwood game I learn it afresh.
...get hard nosed and level headed ...
Consider these points - none would be contentious ...
Point 1: Going forward, as valuable as Scott Pendlebury is to Collingwood, he’d be far more valuable to the Suns. He’d bring strong leadership and training standards that they’re craving.
Point 2...
Any reason why Harry decided to NOT join the impressive guard of honour that his team mates formed for Scott Pendlebury after the match. It wouldn't have been easy after a gut wrenching loss but 21 blokes and the coach were able to rise to occasion. Taylor stood out of the row and refused to...
Scott Pendlebury will play his 300th AFL game in Friday night's Qualifying Final against Geelong, becoming the 89th player in VFL/AFL history to reach this illustrious milestone, and just the third Collingwood player to do so as well. One would think he will easily pass Gordon Coventry (306...
I was surprised to hear from today’s broadcast that Pendlebury was an ex-basketballer. Who’d thunk it? I also hear that the big American was also a basketball player once-upon-a-time. If they were to go one-on-one, someone would have to win. Who’s your bet? Also, would Jack Watts give them a run...
Currently on 295.
Only 5 more games to go.
A huge effort. First since Tony Shaw.
Unfortunately it will be our first final (Elimination?), so hope it’s a good one for him.
