This may have been mentioned in another thread, but these 5 guys deserve a dedicated thread for this news
1 year extension for each of Hawkins, Smith & Tuohy
2 year extensions for Z. Guthrie & Tommy Atkins

Cam Guthrie will remain a Cat until at least 2025
GEELONG is thrilled to announce that Cameron Guthrie has signed a four-year contract extension with the Club.
Guthrie’s new deal will see him remain a Cat until at least the end of 2025.
“The club has always given me their...
...his own "scapegoat" thread just 2 years ago, but the last 18 months have shown the value of patience, perseverance and playing a guy in their best position because he's turned into a genuine A-Grade midfielder and leader at the club
Congrats on game #200 Cam Guthrie - well deserved milestone
I like many have been a huge critic of Zach Guthrie, but what a ****ing game he played today against North Melbourne. Imagine a few critics will go into hiding like normal but I can now see why the club has persisted with him. Take a bow, kiddo!
💙🤍
Coming off a B+F and AA last year and backing it up even further this year. I'm surprised he's already in the top 25% earners at Geelong but apparently he already was in 2018 when he signed his current deal. I am assuming Jeremy Cameron coming in has not affected his FA status but I can't find...
Congrats to those 5 guys on signing new deals; 2 years for Fort & 1 year for the other four
Thanks to Tarca for his past couple of seasons and good luck to him in the future...
Zac Tuohy and Stanley out for JOSH JENKINS and ZAC GUTHRIE.
Boy oh boy - Tom Hawkins a long way from his dairy farm, Essington a long way from a finals win. Who takes home the tractor on the day?
Hawfies won't even be watching the end of their close game as they take time to watch the Cats in...
One is a champion of the club and the other is much maligned.
They both play milestone games against Port Adelaide after the bye.
Show your appreciation here.
Personally I rate Cam a lot and regard him as a good hybrid type player at his best,
but his name creates extreme division of opinion on our board.
How is he perceived by non Geelong supporters?
...players who bang it on the boot which now will waste a potentially dangerous clearance.
So which players of ours does this suit? For mine Guthrie is the obvious one because his biggest strength is his acceleration and ability to put teammates into space while his biggest weakness has been...
With Blicavs, Stewart, Fogarty, Constable, and O'Connor all signing extensions recently, it looks like the list is coming together for the next few years. :thumbsu:
Thoughts on Cam Guthrie and what he is worth salary wise?
Is a free agent and think he will not get to play much in his preferred position in the midfield with Ablett, Danger, Selwood x2, Menegola, Duncan etc taking the starting spots so could see him going to a different team at years end
One...
...appeared in the league again.
Instead, he moved up to Sunbury, coaching some of the youth sides there, and adopted his father's surname of Guthrie while fathering four sons. Cameron, the second oldest, was an Essendon fan growing up, but has played 128 games for Geelong as of the end of 2017...
Congratulations to the boys. :thumbsu:
Superb effort for three of them to come off the rookie list and not only equip themselves well, but get selected for a huge final. A monumental effort.
Stewart coming from the VFL via the GFL just shows just how good our system is and why we continue to...
Five to 10 minutes into the last, Guthrie bends over to pick up the ball and Hodge tries to clear the ball at the same time with a toe poke from behind, but also hits Guthrie in the face (accidentally IMHO). Guthrie distressed and leaves the field but shortly returns. Is the head still...
Has shown enough to indicate he'll never be a midfielder of any real quality. We struggled for too long with him in there. Doesn't have the weapons of Touhy, nor the physical presence to be a great defender. Guthrie is sitting in the abyss a bit, the club is being very, very good to him.
This kid is seriously good and most would argue has now entered elite status. I believe he is now elite. Has pace, poise, beautiful kick and proven goal kicker. Thoughts?
A great effort from Cameron to gather 30 touches and boot the lazy 3 goals in a losing team nonetheless. Playing against a bunch of 28+ year olds we saw how promising the youth down at the Cattery is. :thumbsu:
Always like guthrie, thought he had some talent but now I'm not so sure.
Shows signs one week then plays like a first year player the next.
Is the issue that we move him around to much? should he play as purely a tagger, midfield, backline? Bews is developing fantastically as a shutdown small...
Concerning stat from the weekend...

"With his 33 disposals, Guthrie gained just 24 metres to unwittingly set a new mark for the fewest metres gained by a player registering 30 or more disposals in a game."
So basically one of...
...compo pick for Gary Ablett. Then it came to pick 23 personally I had been all over us getting Jack Darling. When Wellsy read out the name Cam Guthrie. Most of us went who? But we are now starting to see the abilities of Guthrie and I dare say we are all very happy to have him at our club. But...
It seems sections of the Liberals are pushing for reform of the ABC. In today's party room meeting of the coalition, discussion over the ABC was extensive with one MP describing it as "not our ABC".
In recent weeks the ABC has been criticised, mainly in the Murdoch sections of the press, for...
