As bad as the Cameron decision looks I thought the highlight was the sadness and disappointment on the umpires face when he realised there was no way around it and he had to pay holding the ball against Toohey in front of goal.
Probably a 50/50 decision but the fact that the umpire decided to blow his whistle at such a critical moment suggests a deeply disturbing psychological issue with AFL umpires. Either that or the bloke had a bet on the Pies.
You haven't wasted it yet but looks like you will. Definately a once in a generation list, arguably the best team in the AFL and Melbourne looks like blowing it away.
Curious watching Carlton trying to run in waves and link with short handballs through the middle when they don't have any space and under intense pressure. They obviously train for it but Brisbane aren't witches hats and Carlton don't seem to have the presence of mind to switch to plan B (if...
Big problem with Carlton's game is that they have too many players that don't seem to be capable of thinking on their feet and feel too much heat. Dinky handballs, tapping the ball to the opposition, spoiling the ball to the opposition's advantage and so on and so on. Big problem.
Great win. But we really need to talk about the rock bottom AFL umpiring has sunk to this season. It is beyond belief that a professional sport can be so badly officiated, and I have seen too many matches where the decisions are basically one way. One way umpiring.
Oh Look. Umpires missed another Collingwood free. Is anyone in the media even talking about the one way umpiring this season? They are ruining the game.
Incredible isn't it. I can't recall a season where so many coaching jobs were on the line. I imagine there is plenty of behind the scenes scrambling and the rumour about Scott having offer(s) elsewhere are most likely on the money.
Neither of these teams is going anywhere. Cannot see either coach holding his job beyond this year. Looks like this will be the year of major coaching reshuffles.
Freo took their foot off that quarter. You can gauge what they are doing by Fife's possession count. Lyon probably decided at half time that it's a bridge too far. Probably regrets he didn't bring the reserve team now.
