Counterproductive anyway as it would impact sales of the Record. I was surprised when they allowed around the game team names on the scoreboard as opposed to the secret code which could only be accessed via purchase of the Record.
Keep in mind I haven't bought a Record since about 1986 so I dont...
its to close a reference to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for my soft little pc mind - support of this former militant organisation is not suitable for an AFL team.
Who would you like to play in R1, that wouldn't be a big enough ask...WCE, Williamstown, Preston? Why would they be played into form? Look R0 is a bullshit concept and I hope we see the last of it but I reckon a team like the Richmond with an away game in QLD and a 5 day front up to R1 may have...
Perhaps there is a better thread for this and there probably is. I must admit I find it an interesting discussion and can understand the alternate viewpoints even if I don't agree.
The overlap of peak in careers doesn't often coincide so head to head is often meaningless. Longevity almost works...
North
North had pokies. They were one of the very few organisations that couldn't turn a reasonable profit off them and Tabcorp took them away. That is when they got moral not before.
I support their stance now....but lets not pretend it was because they wanted to be a good community citizen
tha
that is just life. Life is full of hard luck stories.
If the club itself wants to commemorate this differently, up to them. As shitty as it may be though I think the AFL should just stick to medals for those that played
Weightman was a great player, I dont feel he ever gets the recognition he deserves. Those state games in the 80's showed what he would have been like in a better team. Tough and dirty little bugger as well.
That said I wouldn't have in my team but I'd give him an honourable mention
I think there are varying degrees of 'no fault'....where you are either 'not at fault' or a lessened penalty for no significant fault.
If the players were not at fault though and the club was - what do you do? Ban the club for a year and let the players play elsewhere? Not an easy answer
going to the shops today reminded me of an encounter with Greg Tivendale.
He was going up an escalator whilst I was descending. Nothing more to add.
I also bought an overpriced pie from Simon Beaumont in his Bay St. Port Melbourne pie shop. Whilst you may think his football career was not very...
Must have been well over 10 years ago but I went into the TAB at the Rex in Port Melbourne to get some fixtures for office tipping,,,maybe 15 years.
David Swartz was in there with some haggard old bird who must have been pushing 50 plus.
I got my fixtures and left.
As usual I did shit in the...
his ears are tall...not big in the traditional sense (sticking out) but from lobe to top I reckon they cover 50% of his head.
looking like an absolute dork for the brownlow coverage
I posted this in the other Tom thread....but felt more appropriate here as the pic above inspired my post
Edit...
God he makes me cringe.... if he manages to complete a live cross without looking at the notes in his hand under 10 times he explodes in joy like he has just blown his load...
Not at all. Buying a membership doesn't mean you have to go every week. We have 3 full memberships in our family but I'm the only one that goes weekly. Having a membership helps support your club.
I agree completely with your post...and what I was referring to was as outlined in your comments about 'vision'
There are basic rules of the game. How you achieve a result out of these rules/parameters or what not is up to you/team/coach/whatever. I like this aspect...**** me, its not chess.
