I would take whoever we are targeting at 29 then if Essendon’s target is still there at 31 do
31 and F2 for 39 and one of Dopes F1’s (preferably the one tied to the Dopes)
Would be disappointed if we don’t go for 1 or 2 small forwards also considering there are a few around our picks, otherwise Vandermeer may be in for a 5 year contract extension
Quality over quantity would rather one player good enough to play 200 than 9 list cloggers playing 20 games each.
All of them have played a few good games but apart from Bramble , Scott and a few games from McNeil they are a very average lot who done really improve the side into a top 4 contender
17 will be about 20 on these lists with Ashcroft, Kako and Lombard’s coming in.
25 will be around 29 if Marshall goes in between our picks
35 should be about ….. 34 given Brisbane, Essendon lose picks for their players
48 will probably move up the order
Subject to where players are selected...
Age profiles don’t matter as much now as you can put 5 to 7 years into players and they leave, in contract or not these days.
Problem will be unless Clubs get more power to hold onto players then they will not spend as much effort developing
Agree and if they are staying I would go from the bottom up although Baker may get another contract as a depth player but surely Cleary, Scott, Duryea, JJ are in their last year, the others are role / depth only
Although I Would love to see Jones cement a place in the side, he showed a bit late...
I can see Richmond moving pick 6, 10 or 11 into 2025. They have 8 picks in top 24 and will move one or two out a year surely
Power said already he’s interested in moving up from 17
What will it take to get one of these picks with the picks we have in 2024 and 2025 ?
Love the idea of Freij upgrading to 6 but wonder if it now has a curse attached to it given last two owners being Dahlhaus and Smith going to Geelong ?
Doesn’t Johnno live in Geelong ?
This trade period reinforced If you are trying to get a contracted player out of a Club you need to pay top dollar, unless you are the Western Bulldogs
Great post and Particularly agree with that part
We have One of the best players in the comp, a 21 year old 208cm freak who will take the comp by storm plus a 22 yo gun who just kicked 43 goals in his 4th season, never been so promising
There is no way Treloar will be on $900k+ with Collingwood putting up $300k on next contract. His renewal will be similar to what we are already paying him less Collingwood money
