I would hope the answer is near zero - don't see the value in setting plans/strategy around a hypothetical move for one player in more than 12 months. 12 months is a LONG time.
Obviously he's a target and we have been able to accrue several early picks next year to secure a big fish if...
B - Hough, Edwards, Cole
HB - Baker, Gov, Ginbey
C - Hunt, Yeo, Duggo
HF - Graham, Allen, Hewett
F Ryan, Waterman, Owies
Fol: Flynn, TK, Reid
IC: Cripps, Shanahan, JWilliams, Allan
Sub: Maric
Getting tough to pick a team - which a very nice change
Yeah but we still have a F3 tied to the Hawks.
Which goes alongside 2xF1, 2xF2.
Pretty bloody happy with our future pick stocks all things considered. To get in the talent we have this year while retaining most of our 2026 picks is a huge win.
Especially when next year projects to be higher...
Allan looks like a ****ing adonis, carved out of stone by the gods.
Meanwhile, checkout the poindexter that NM picked at number 2. Definitely a mouthbreather.
I don't mind Hotton, super talented, could be one of the best picks in the draft if he recovers well.
An ACL is bloody concerning, but Will 'normboy' ashcroft came back impressively.
There's a lot of risk though, particularly with the precarious state of our list and our track record with...
Decided not to get caught up too much with individual draftees - saves the inevitable melt when we don't go with the boards consensus (remember Valente?)
Even with all those factors I don't think what we paid was that far off fair value - still overs, but we didn't get screwed/fleeced IMO.
That said I 100% wish we'd used 26 and either kept 3 or 12 & 14 (+ Owies) instead.
A mistake for overpaying for sure - but once 14 slides to 16-18 as expected, how much or an overpayment was it? An early second round pick would have been more comfortable for me, so we weren't exactly fleeced as irritating as it is.
I thought Pyke came out recently and said Hewett should be good for day 1 preseason training.
That's about as much info as we can expect at this point in the year. Whether it eventuates is another matter though
If we pick up Clurey it would be a smash glass option - depth in case Hedwards or Bazzo goes down.
If we only have 1 spot, would rather DBG. Spuderific up till now, but has the talent and talls are notoriously slow in coming on.
There was this Korean restaurant in Brisbane called Funny Funny that had a drink called the Tsnunami - a shot of whiskey, a shot of sake, a shot of soju and a pot of beer. You poured them all in a bigger glass and skulled it.
Great times, vague memories
