I don't know much about his footy but I would rookie him and make him the captain of our VFL team. Looks a true leader, truly loves the game and a bloke that can help develop young players.
I'll have a go
1. Ashcroft
2. Armstrong
3. Lalor
4. O'Sullivan
5. Smith
6. Langford
7. Lindsay
8. Travaglia
9. Draper
10. Lombard
My favourite is Harry Armstrong - the kid has sticky hands, is accurate and can kick 60m effortlessly from a set shot. He may not get the ball much but will rack up...
Would have needed to trade it for a future pick to protect it until Lombard bid and then try to get back in.
It seems it will take a F1 to get an early 2nd round pick so would have to be a player we rate highly to be paying that price. Hopefully they've done a Geelong and actually scouted some...
Him and Rowell have been the draftees in the Suns history that I have coveted the most.
He has fantastic attributes and can blossom in the right system that looks to spread and lace him out in space. However he's not a tall target and he's not a midfielder and you shouldn't build a game plan...
If you lack height and don't have an elite kick or goal kicking instincts then the long term upside is capped. Tell me an elite player at his height he reminds you of?
Don't know why everyone seems so keen to match a bid so high?
Can't say we didn't try Pies. Pies were always overreaching to try to get this deal done and get Houston when they didn't have the picks.
Maybe we just separate these deals and we pay fair value for Noble... Bye Bye Pick 13 to Pies, hello North F1
So this only works if Richmond finish low enough that their F1 pick wouldn't be swallowed up by a Zeke bid, and that we don't have to trade it off to another club next year to pay overs for another experienced player that isn't worth the pick... Sounds risky
The Demons pick might not be there for GC for much longer as Freo would have to be sitting there thinking they could do this deal as well and still have the picks to get Bolton
Probably go down to the wire... 6 and 29 and we get Rioli and some of those junk picks Tigers have so we can trade out some of our better picks in 20s and even 30s for future draft capital
Next offer will be 13, 29 for F1 + Noble... then if we wait a bit longer we may get 13 for F1 + Noble... fair value is probably somewhere in between.
I can see why Pies are trying to get overs as they don't have much left to get Houston after that ridiculous trade to get Lachie Schultz last year
It's funny that the Pies are thinking they can turn a player that has been around the fringe of their best 22 into almost enough draft capital to get a 2 time AA in the same position.
If appears the Pies only path to getting Houston is getting pick 13 off us, especially if we take up the Blues...
FYI Foxfooty got pick 21 wrong in that they only got a 3rd round compensation pick for Cumming...they already owned pick that pick 21 which is unrelated to Cumming
Much easier to be a seller of high picks and trading contracted players with currency than trying to extract contracted players from other clubs. Let's see how he goes this year...
Patterson looks like a likely type - good athleticism, took the game on, looked good in the contested ball stuff. Probably won't go too high in the draft as a back pocket who probably isn't going to rack up big numbers and seduce recruiters with elite disposal, but a player you would love on...
Been a bit lucky with Zeke... 3 times he almost busted tackles 50-60m out from goal and could have had 5 goals already from long range and he would be the presumptive No.1 pick all off season and make obtaining points for next year even more of an issue
The thing with Geelong is they know that they attract top mature talent so they usually have to give up a 1st round pick for quality player in a trade, and finishing high up the ladder means they are generally picking from pick 30 onwards.
I know someone in the Geelong recruitment team and they...
All depends on how you look at it...
13th best player excluding Lombard and Ashcroft
15th best player if you are including all players in the draft field
