Just means they’ll need better picks.
GC have 3 of the top 12 or so prospects, Sydney 3 in the top 20 or so. GC have a lot of early picks so are in a good position. Sydney less so at this point
And thats the balance every club weighs up. Cutting too deep ruins depth and in most cases leads you to pick more kids in the back end of the draft who won’t be good enough.
We’ve also had a few shallow drafts in the last ten years
He's a big bodied midfielder. Kinda reminds me of Richard Douglash a bit. No x-factor but is strong over the ball, tackles hard, can pick up big numbers and can kick goals
From my top 50:
37 - DAY-WICKS, Archer - Mid/HF
38 - DENNIS, Clancy - KPD
44 - HARGRAVE, Phoenix - Mid
46 - MURPHY, Josh - HF
Xavier Ivisic might go. He's a Karl Amon type. Oliver Warburton and Patrick Retschko maybe as well.
I can see why they'd want mids, but their backline is getting on and they just lost Battle and delisted a bunch of younger defenders who didn't work out. Trevaglia, Tauru and Barrat is basically a set and forget backline for their next gen. Carroll and Macrae coming in as experienced mids...
Depends how high you rate Berry and Whitlock, but we did alright.
On face value we arguably got the best small forward, got a 200cm KPF who was predicted to go a lot higher, and got a draft year slider who was rated an early pick at the start of the season.
We did alright
His kick needs a lot of work but the rest of his game is pretty good. Start of the year he was looking like a top 15 pick. Its a decent get there. Improves his kicking he’ll be a player
