Martin took so long to reach elite status though and after 4 or 5 years he had a huge drop off. Achieved very little once he was 30 or so.
Also proven when his side is outside the 8 Martin is far less effective, his performance dropping 25% in losses.
and the property is apparently exactly 17 minutes drive from both West Coast and Fremantle HQ. It was almost like he picked a spot in the exact middle, because he did.
With McCartin possibly in the forward line then Cox must have a lot of faith in one of our key defenders who has not played yet.
Also we need a bigger emphasis on winning the clearances. In the big games our lack of emphasis on that really kills us.
So many awards are. They are just midfielders awards and just midfielders who are fairly famous already.
I remember the Brownlow last year it was clear the umpires mistook Josh Daicos for Nick Daicos as Josh had a great game, Nick a fairly average one at best and yet Nick got the 3 votes.
I just went by who shares the largest zone borders.
If a Victorian who knows the geography better suggests something else that is good too, I am definitely not going to say I am right and you are wrong.
I can't wait to see what changes Cox brings to the side. He obviously will have his own ideas compared to Horse in what needs to stay the same and what needs to change.
I think a forward line of Papley and Greene would be very interesting too.
A part of me would love to have a bit of a round robin sort of competition at the end of the season with combined teams like this, though I know it will never happen. Would be fun though.
So so far we have
Sydney/GWS
B: Dane Rampe, Sam Taylor, Connor Idun
HB: Nick Blakey, Tom McCartin, Lachie Whitfield
C: Josh Kelly, Chad Warner, Errol Gulden
HF: Stephen Coniglio, Logan McDonald, Finn Callaghan
F: Tom Papley, Jesse Hogan, Toby Greene
Foll: Brodie Grundy, Tom Green, Isaac Heeney...
Which sorts of backs up what the people on reddit were saying. His first 2/3rds of the season was not good enough to be in the AA, even though he had a great rear 1/3rd.
So you think the 6th best player in a side should get an All Australian?
Other than Geelong in 2007 are there any clubs that have 6 players in an AA team?
