Two games running - two close losses- dalgleish's kicking errors have been catastrophic and very costly. Clearly hampered yesterday, at times looked slower than Nob. Made the odd spoil but couldn't deliver on his actual strengths. Way off senior footy.
Nob was great. Not sure how his...
Is Sam Shaw in your settled defensive unit? applies to a keeper league late draft pick, not sc / dt.
Edit: kinda answered earlier. it seems injury is the worry re number of games.
are we going to run with the fumbling against GC in a preseason practice match, or the clean hands, vision and creative instincts against Freo in the real stuff? Or just arbitrarily pick one to justify a given position?
as a general rule, we seem to write kids off far too early. imo, kav...
Is Hoskin-Elliott likely to be a definite starter each week (when fit) or is he being squeezed out of the seniors by a seemingly inexhaustible supply of highly rated young mids?
not sure about "breakout man". the list looks more like half a dozen could get opportunities rather than one will play 20 games. i'm excluding Joe from that, he simply HAS to play.
But Edwards might push for early games and be hard to dislodge.
Possibly, yes. But like I said, believe it or not. It doesn't matter now. The issue now is how we can use this to
stock up on more talent and grow the list over the draft ban years.,
A really really good get for the doggies. A big loss for us, but how big is hard to quantify because the irony is that if we change our methods to make use of Joe effectively, it probably would also have drawn the strengths of stewie to the fore. If crameri is allowed to use his combination of...
Stewie will be a fantastic player for you lads, injury permitting. Very very sorry to see him go. Have watched him from Bendigo reserves right through to now. A unique player who Macca will use well. I wish him well, in all bar the essendon games. Dickson, Campbell and now stu. Stop pinching...
Kav is a bit of a slow burn player. Give him a month of consecutive games and reap the benefits. Pure mid, 19 touches and a goal in his 3rd senior game is about what we have accepted from far more seasoned players over recent years. Huge huge upside here.
injury permitting, will play a fair bit of senior footy this year. maybe all. imo. still light, yes, but probably no worse than hepp was in year one. plus, he has class and we need class. in player type, he's exactly what we want. get games into him, he's good enough and could move with a rocket...
No, I wouldn't.
But hunter is an interesting one. Was on a program designed purely to get him on the park for a few games. With a real preseason, who knows. Showed a bit, insane attack on man and ball.
Lachy needs confidence. Use the pace more and break the lines.
Kav is not just an outside player. Will be the versatile gun we are crying out for. Judd minus a yard of pace in playing style. Pure midfield instincts.
Keep Luke Davis firmly in mind as a unique mid prospect. Might be the defensive minded player many are asking for.
Jackson merrett in a...
Kavanagh -instinctive, natural, pure jet midfielder 101.
Pears - super talent, allowed to train finally. i haven't forgotten.
davis - intelligent and versatile player, big endurance, thinking mans footballer. watch your back, buddha.
I am "they". and yes he will.
friggin gun in the making, instinctively a better mid than we've drafted in a long time. I'm talking positioning, understanding of timing, quick thinking, ball use.
do not be surprised if he plays a shitload of senior footy next year. needs some more core...
another thought - if we did suceed in winkling a first round pick from someone, i'm not sure if i'd be rushing to hand it over for caddy. lets say , for arguments sake, that saints needed one of our key defenders and we end up with pick #9 (JoeD) and pick #12. If the price for Caddy is #12, then...
It's actually "Shiels", not shields. and i know essendon fans generally over-rate their own, but here i think quite a few are selling both of the KPD's under discussion a fair bit short. Cales first half of the year was very decent, and Pears remains - despite some weird opinions from the short...
completely and utterly disagree with those worrying about Heppell as a mid. this kid can control the ball in contested situations like not many. will gain some more size and core strength and become an excellent stoppage player, and his natural reading of the play will see him get it on the...
The only people i'd be listening to on Koby stevens are WAFL watchers. I simply haven't seen enough of him to know what it is that's keeping him out of west coasts side. how's his WAFL form? and is he developing his game? sporadic senior footy in the first few years doesn't necessarily...
