Thank you so much for all the updates and final report on a work day. Makes it more real for us interstaters.
Really pleased by the Konstanty and Ford reports. Feel like there is room for Konstanty, Ford and RHJ.
Konstanty pre trade vids looked everything we needed, hope that's what we get.
Keen to know more about BGZ from you both.....he appears to have put on some size, how was he moving.
...in the HB line and uses it really well. Seems tough and willing to contest whenever he can. Lots to like about the way he's tracking.
CharlieComben - Not sure if he's carrying something but he seemed a bit off to me. Maybe it's a bit psychological. He hasn't really played with Griff before...
I agree I think we should be targeting one of Charlie Curnow or Sam Darcy, I would maybe consider King from the Suns or Hogan but don’t want too pay too much.
EOD we are Maley and Teakle coming through so we are pretty sorted for KPF depth.
Do not overpay whatever you do North.
...McKercher, while seemingly poised for more run through the middle, is set to start across the half-backline, while developing key tall CharlieComben looks very settled in the back half. Second-year ruckman Taylor Goad has impressed track-watchers, with the untried South Australian chomping...
I am actually thinking it is becoming a lot clearer for Round 1.
B: Archer Logue Corr
Pretty much locked
HB: Daniel Comben Mc Donald
Pretty much locked, but still not sold on Charlie in defence and LMAC on thin ice
C: Scott LDU McKercher
Pretty much locked
HF: Parker Darling Simpkin
Pretty...
Just some positional type stuff mate.
Did JD do any relief rucking? I think this will determine whether Brynn gets a run early.
Would you say Colby played more wing or half back? Who would be next in line after Scott for the other wing position?
...clean. Got a fair bit of it off half back and up the left wing. Great signs. Much better than what we saw most of the time last year.
CharlieComben: Played a Chom-like game, as expected. Couldn't keep up with Goad when he went forward, but I don't think anyone else would have either. Looked...
...2026 - Tanner Armstrong and/or Cody Walker, Jack Leys, plus free agents (Kieran Briggs, Dylan Moore, Tom Sparrow)
2027 - No first rounder, so stock up on free agents (Keidean Coleman, Caleb Serong, Noah Anderson, Sam Flanders, Tom Green, Will Day, Trent Rivers, CharlieComben, Cody Weightman)
I think we’ll improve significantly this year, to the tune of about 4 goals a game. Not sure how that would come in terms of more goals for and less goals against, but if it’s split evenly it would be:
23 games x 4 goals x 6 pts pg = 552 / 2 = 276 up / down
2024 For + 276 = 1,895
2024 Against...
Wow can't believe you posted something like this because a few weeks ago I had a similar thought. So similar infact that I wrote down the following list in the Notes app on my phone back in early December (wasn't going to post it when I tabled it up, but now I've got a use for it thanks to your...
Not even sure I'll post this but I'll do some research and see if it's got legs.
I'm having a look at scoring and a moneyball approach to our rise up the ladder in '25.
A separate post could look at lowering our Points Against to under 2000.
But looking at Points Scored we sat in the bottom...
Yes there is no doubt about this but people have to remember he's virtually played 7 months as a key defender. As with some of our other players I get the frustration but you have to think in baby steps, last year in a lot of the games he played really well and in some games he had some problems...
You think Matlock could be playing sooner rather than later then? Any idea if he looks better forward or back?
It would be huge if this guy was getting amongst the best 22 this year.
Gotta say this was one of the reasons I liked Comben forward. I just don't see him as a stopper (although I would imagine the club doesn't necessarily either and it's Logue then Dawson in the long term planning for that type of role). He could be a brilliant intercepting defender, but I don't...
Thanks for the reports, they are great.
Really pleased by Fordy’s good form. But, can’t say I’m massively enthused about Comben the back man as some.
I may have missed it, but how was Hansen and Hardeman?
Home now
Summarised final thoughts
- Powell best on. If you changed score involvements to inside 50 involvements and the blue team had 25 inside 50’s for the 2 periods I saw, Powell would have had 22 of 25 inside 50 involvements. All over the ground, often got multiple touches in the 1...
