Ollie Murphy 200cm KPD Fremantle from the Dragons 22 Premiership Team, Vic Metro & Team of the Year…
Played 10 games for Peel last season then missed back half due to a abdominal injury, stuck behind some very good talls…
He would have by the end of the year two seasons under his belt, would...
Some excellent names there, we/I would love on the list. Realistically, with the drafting of HOF, moving JSOS back, adding Haynes and having the luxury of swinging Kemp back as well as Lewis Young, who I remain amazed can’t work with Weiters, we have enough short term options. Quality costs both...
...at the end of the year in a trade who would everyone be taking?
Sam De Koning
Brennan Cox
Leek Aleer
Jake Lever
Ben Miller
Jack Payne
JordanButts
Tylar Young
Jacob Blight
Josh Draper
Zach Reid
Or would you be more inclined to wait a couple of years for Harry O'Farrell to come on...
I knew this wasn't a real Matthew Nicks side when I couldn't find Lachlan Murphy in it.
Nearly had me fooled with Syd Draper as the sub and Brody Smith though

Sure, but nobody looked at the way Butts moved around and saw a stoppage midfielder. We might have to throw the age old tropes like ‘big guys take time’ out the window. How much of that is due to building the strength required to compete directly against opposition? If he’s going to be a mid...
If he is going to play midfield he will need several preseasons to build his fitness to a level to play midfield. Even the elite mids of the competition took two seasons to become full time mids. Obviously some few exceptions but it would be bonkers to expect Curtin to have fitness to walk in to...
...is going to take.
Curtin was drafted at 197cm and 95kg. To my knowledge there hasn't been a midfielder drafted that is that size.
His size and weight is closest to JordanButts on our list. The dude is massive. To expect him to dominate in the midfield in his second season is ridiculous.
PEATLING BRINGS THE HEAT
Adelaide recruit James Peatling continued to show why the club was so keen to bring him to West Lakes, with the Crows skipper Jordan Dawson in his sights in another extremely physical training session. While it was a new location for the Crows’ pre-season session on...
A lot of people forgetting that Butts is a sensational 1v1 defender when 100% healthy. Now we have the depth, Jordon should really only be considered for selection when 100% fit.
I like the attacking play of Keane, Muzz, Wozz etc, but having Butts ready to step in as a class negater is great...
I've been trying to work out who drops out, who comes in ... it's a tougher job than this time last year (which is a good thing)
For me, these are the 18 that I have in pen (assuming no injuries) in games played order:
Player
DOB
Age at start of season
Height
Games
Alex Neal-Bullen...
I'd take Keane at 79 over Butts at 84 percent efficiency every day of the week. They deliver a completely different type of disposal for those efficiencies.
The thing is, both Butts and Borlase are very slow decision-makers with ball in hand. They tend to get most of their possessions by marking the ball, then take time to assess. Most of the time any option up-field gets closed down, and so eventually they take a short, safe option, usually...
The problem I have with Butts is that my heart is in my mouth every time he has the ball especially when he’s looking around for options at half back, not so much with Borlase.
You’re right about the height though, but Borlase does play tall.
Even earlier in the year Jordan wasn't at his best obviously playing with a calf issue that was heavily strapped.
When that came off he looked back to something like his best until he went down with the foot issue.
