This is a staggering injury list for any time of the season, let alone February.
Just making finals this season will be a monumental achievement from here given the amount of blokes who will be underdone AND their calibre.
Callum Ah Chee struggled with self-belief early in his career but says that's in the past after his barnstorming finish to 2024 helped Brisbane to the flag
People are talking as if Milera's career WAS a bust ....the guy will play this season as a 27 YO ....peak career point, and has IMO a good 5 years of footy in front of him
For me he sits in the Andy Otten / TomDoedee category. Very promising players that had a serious injury, made it back to AFL level but never hit the same heights. Ended up forging careers as reliable AFL footballers.
Milera was building nicely. Played 60 games across his first 4 seasons...

Absurd that 4 premiership players are emergencies the game after a grand final, and another isnt in the best 26 (McKenna).
That's ignorning first round pick Sam Marshall, the guy who was leading our B&F at round 7 (Linc) and guys who have played very servicable footy for us recently - Shadeau...
For our best team it makes sense tbh.
Deodee will eventually take over from Frog, just a matter of when/if he can get his body right.
Smith is the most likely back up option here if we want a like for like replacement, or if Day isn't that good to cement a full spot.
Kiddy is back instantly...
...players, this is a difficult team to select. Ryan Lester was a finals hero and will play plenty of games, but the club recruited TomDoedee for a reason and his best should see him win a spot. Like Doedee, Keidean Coleman will return from a ruptured ACL and is in the best team, but who he...
The amount of guys in rehab at the moment gives me reason for concern. They might be right to play by opening round but we've seen plenty of times with other clubs how having interrupted/limited preseasons can cause further problems in-season.
...from the premiership 23 - underrated ruck Oscar McInerney, Keidean Coleman (who was brilliant in the 2023 finals run), boom recruit TomDoedee, key veterans like Linc McCarthy and Darcy Gardiner, plus the new faces like Levi Ashcroft (who’s supposed to be just as good as Will). Joe Daniher’s...
Of the teams that played finals, Carlton (112 games avg) were more experienced than:
Port (107)
Hawks (108)
And older (26yr 5mo) than:
Hawks (25y 6)
Port (25y 10)
GWS (26y 3)
Sydney (26y 4)
on par with Brisbane (26y 5)
Could say that about every team. You also moved on Kennedy who played every game and Owies who missed one. I don't think either of those guys move the needle but they were available each week.
Brisbane won the flag with O-Mac doing his shoulder in the prelim and McCarthy, Doedee, Coleman...
