JackMahony had a good head on his shoulders. I'm not making any predictions on Hardeman either way because I simply haven't watched him play enough football, but what you've mentioned is not really a predictor of anything
I'm not one to defend Will, but had he had CL's unmolested run at it from a physical stand point. I'd be pretty confident he'd be best 23.
I reckon you would have also been close to better, Andy.
Bold - potential poor injury management may have curtailed career
Italic - could've been a better player for us with better opportunity / development imo
As the resident Aaron Black fan boy, I just have to say: How dare you include him on this list.
The bloke had a shoulder hanging by a thread and wanted to go in to get it fixed. The Bard wouldn't allow it and played him injured, leading to shattering his confidence, and his shoulder.
Was...
Unless he really makes a wholesale improvement this summary is pretty fair,
Worthwhile injury cover depth player with considerable versitility. But on exposed form wouldn't want him to be a starting 22 player.
...Toby. Would even give Wil a go before him.
Toby has value in that we can slot him in at either end if there's an injury crisis, but we really should be looking further afield. His skills are very much VFL/AFL borderline. His application and intelligence are AFL level, but so were JackMahony's
The difference is that when Suns picked him up he had just turned 22 years old with only 44 games under the belt, off an injury cruelled season and output near enough to identical to Murphy. Bit different when there's a 115 game history of being not a liability about 1 in every 6 weeks.
Nothing new but other than RHJ we don't even seem to roll the dice on finding these kinds of talents - great lateral movement, burst of pace, goal sense and arsey marking ability.
Our playbook seems to keep getting guys like Harvey, Drury, Mahony etc - 180cm players who move like 190cm players...
Will Hamill - Frankston VFL
Cooper Hamilton - Carlton VFL
Also, Ethan Phillips - Carlton VFL and Josh Bennetts - Collingwood VFL
Starting to get a little concerned we haven't named any "Name" recruits. Plenty of clubs have been very active.

You would expect a lot of announcements over the next few weeks across all clubs
Hawks made a prelim in 2001 and pushed Essendon who had barely lost a game in the space of 2 years
10th in 2002, 9th in 2003, 2004 it fell apart and they finished 2nd last, Clarko then took over
It was like Clarko taking over at the end of 2017. Instead we had two more years of the Mr...
...Clarkson even coached his first game.
Clarkson took over a list that hadn't seen a final for 6 years and had such future weapons as Atu Bosenavulagi and JackMahony on the list.
Reckon we were way behind hawks 2004.
That said, I agree we've under-delivered so far no matter what measure you...
...inside mid offering great flexibility
Jack Bytel - Collingwood / St Kilda - Ball magnet at VFL level and covers the loss of Callum Brown
JackMahony - Gold Coast / Kangaroos - O'Sullivan and Bennetts are big loses and if not drafted, you would expect to head elsewhere so in need of a small...
That’s a lot of names, who do you want if we are taking two?
I would rather we focus on players who have been delisted prematurely, say Hotton and Burgiel, its not common that players taken in the second round are cut so quickly, unless there is a few issues, I would rather take a chance on...
