Oh dear Dan. How did Jack Ross get into the 2017 draft crop? And how is delisted Ainsworth above players who get a regular game? What the hell is Sam Reid doing in there? Who is Brendon Starcevich? So much to upack here Dan....
If you are going based only on body of work so far, how can...

...Only Lachie McNeil (2021) looks like hanging around for a while after being de-listed and re-rookied last year. Others gone are RoarkeSmith (2021 but had already been round the club for a while) and Parker, Raak and McComb (2022). And in 2021 we pre-listed Hayes, Cavarra and had a PSS in...
No.
But Sam Power should fill out any paperwork incorrectly referencing "Roarke" Smith, especially if the deal is still in the balance with only minutes left. Then let the AFL sort out the mess. 😄
Love your thoughts, I agree players can dramatically improve their kicking by learning to alter their style. I don't Sonny to go and have been a bit perplexed at one or two of his demotions over the past 2 seasons.
...But, while he is awkward and messy - he hunts the ball with intent and so has much less time but he is also quick to move the ball on. RoarkeSmith massively improved his kicking by changing his action to
Stab the ball while running rather than wind up and it worked. García should able to do...
Good post. I think eventually if you continuously used the one year strategy with those types the ones who show a bit would be picked off by other teams.
Having said that Im surprised McNeil got 2, he’s was never going anywhere else
...If he’s getting games next season it means we’ve failed to address a positional weakness.
Bramble getting the one year deal was good! RoarkeSmith made an entire career of being a fringe player on one year contracts.
We’re denying ourselves list flexibility for no real reason other than...
Just curious, as this person seems to have similar mail as I did regarding those players - whatever happened to RoarkeSmith to Essendon? I thought that would happen but he was delisted never to be seen again.
Hell yeah, Xerri, Meek and Worpel have entered the chat.
That is another 100 pages of content right there. Lets do this, comparing Cam with rucks. I am ready.
Cam got zero hitouts on the weekend. Spud.
he'll def pass RoarkeSmith. but like I said it was a bumper draft and guys like Xerri, Meek, Brent Daniels and performing every week. Throw in a Worpel too. It was a strong draft. Ed Richards now smashing it in the middle and copping tags ahead of Bont and Treloar.
Less than ordinary??!
There are massive hits all over that list.
The worst top 20 pick he had arguably was a huge part of their 2016 finals campaign.
Clay smith.
The point is that he's a nice solid player but probably doesn't make us a better side in 2024. He works at Collingwood because they're full of pacey smalls and can afford to carry a slower skilled type.
There's also an argument to suggest he hasn't really improved as a player. He's more or...
...He played 14 games (inj) in their flag year where they finished on top
He has played around 15 games this year if not more
I am sure he could have been played ahead of some others as noted below
For example Poulter, Baker, Scott, Gallagher, Laith, McComb (especially in 22), RoarkeSmith (22)
Some fair points, the wing is a tricky role. A good defensive winger shuts down space and causes the opposition to avoid it which subsequently hurts individual stats. Vandermeer suffers the same imo.
I agree that I haven't found his continued selection genuinely upsetting, more curious. Having said that, he couldn't have been selected on last weeks game and was the obvious omission.
To satisfy my own curiosity, I'm just trying to nail down what it has been that has seen him continually...
...it's not unusual for a player to keep his place in the team with sub-10/15 disposal games in the wing, like a lot of Lachie McNeil and RoarkeSmith games - undoubtedly his stats are diminished to play a team role (which doesn't fully attribute the literal last rank to be fair) that has also...
