    Oppo Camp Non-Lions Discussion 2025

St.Kilda Injuries: Max King (knee), Jack Sinclair (hamstring), Mason Wood (quad), Mattaes Phillipou (leg), Dougal Howard (shoulder) and Rowan Marshall (back) Looks like they'll dive for a bottom 4 at this rate. Ross Lyon has until 2026 to do something.

Max King (knee), Jack Sinclair (hamstring) and Mason Wood (quad) all injured in a match simulation at St Kilda. The Saints are already without Mattaes Phillipou (leg), Dougal Howard (shoulder) and Rowan Marshall (back).

Without wanting to sound cold on this but at the same time hoping these injuries are not major for any of these players, if it helps us to have them out for our game, I'll take it as we need every advantage we can get.

The obvious is WTF do we if Wilkie gets injured? We are too reliant on too few and not having other ready to go key defenders is shocking list management in my view. Do you ever watch the VFL, Cordy is shocking even at that level. Howard is not brilliant but he is two levels above Cordy, who...

Why have Port been better at retaining players than the Crows over the years?

And Port have still been finishing top 4

3 months seems best case scenario. Statement says 12 weeks of REHAB. For the lawyer in me that’s the key word. Those with expertise in this area: what then needs to happen so he’s ready to play seniors?

They are different versions of a reconstruction depending on the damge, but you can be sure he is having a shoulder reco. Plus since when have the club been realistic about a players return dates. We can hope for 3 months but it will be more like 6 garuanteed.

Dougal will undergo surgery next week to secure the joint,” EGM Football David Misson said. “Dougal is now looking at about 12 weeks of rehab, which is a significant period, but one we know he’ll approach with professionalism. Club hasn't said it's a reconstruction surgery...

Dougal should be back by May. If we brought in someone from the VFL to cover his spot, he wouldnt be able to play all year.

Walker is only 192cm. He's pretty smart at football, if not off field. Wilkie or Webster can take him. Who played on him last season when he went goalless? ( He kicked as many as four in some games ). We'd probably need 195cm Cordy for 201cm Thilpthorpe.

Think the concern is. The club has yes recruited defenders. None of them are tall enough to play FB as a no.1 defender. They're all shorter defenders who can play on 2nd or 3rd tall forwards. Concerning now that there is no cover for Howard. But think with Enright there he will take a few under...

Adelaide - Walker yeah, and Thilthorpe is now a man mountain, it's a worry Richmond - If we lose to the tigers I'm gonna buy a microwave Port Adelaide - No big Charlie will help GWS - will do well again this year, Hogan a tough matchup Bulldogs - Some doubt on JUH, early in the season at least...

On the doom and gloom for our tall defenders, who do we really need to cover in the first 6 weeks? Adelaide - Cordy on Walker Richmond - We should have them covered regardless. Port Adelaide - Cordy on Lukosius, Wilkie on Georgiadies, also Finalyson to worry about. GWS - We struggle here...

Are Dougal and Marshall out for the season? At the stage Ro is still a chance for round one and we don’t have a timeline for Dougal. Sure, if we lose both for an extended period then improving gets harder but theres still plenty of reasons we can improve. I expect Mitchito to get back to the...

Completely agree with this. As much as Marshall is one of our best players, we at least have a mature option in Boyd (even though he's inexperienced) and we have to time practice structures in the midfield to help cover his absence. There will also be an increased onus on players like Wood to...

More than competitive, that would be our best midfield trio in 15+ years. 2 close to elite players and one A grade. Cohesion and leaving the back 6 thin might not be ideal but that looks like a strength. Marshall going down is bad though. Boyd might be the best investment we ever made. To me...

Saints are utterly cooked, their list is already one of the worst for top end talent and sounds like Marshall and Pou will be struggling to be fit inside the first month. Pity we don't play them super early.

I'd be surprised if Henry is 4-6 weeks away. Unless he's had another set back, he was joining in a few drills with the main group last week so he must be closer to returning to fill training than that.
